Herman

Age:
14 years 15 weeks
Breed:
Doberman Pinscher

Herman is a neutered male rescue Dobe. I have had him since July of 2010. He is approximately 3-4 years old and generally very even-tempered and confident. I have one other small mixed breed male dog (possibly Dachshund/Cocker Spaniel but who really knows...) and he and Herman are inseparable. They wrestle all the time but Herman is always very gentle with little Eddie.

Herman is often very relaxed but sometimes becomes bothered and endlessly paces around the house. He HATES bicycles and will lunge at them aggressively on a walk. I don't have a lot of information about his background other than that he was a stray prior to being rescued and spent nearly a year in a foster home before being adopted by another owner and finally by me. He is very expressive and often tries to "talk" to me. He also seems to pick up on any stress or tension in the house quite quickly. If I'm ever upset or in a bad mood he wallows and paces.

He generally seems to let Eddie (the smaller dog) dominate him but he has some tendency toward dominance aggression and I'm having a hard time figuring out the pecking order between them.
