Hi again!

So my 8 week old boy refuses to pee outside. He will sniff around the house like he has to go so I take him out. As soon as we get outside he runs to the door and whines. I try moving him to the grass, taking him to sniff previous spots where he has gone... nothing works. We will be standing there looking awkardly at each other for 20 minutes before I let him in, and then he goes in the house.

I think it's too cold outside and he's uncomfortable. It's around 50 here and its only going to get colder. He will go outside when there are bits of sun but that's about it.  Any tips on what to do? Will he ever go outside or do I have to wait until summer! haha.

I would try taking him outside and doing a little bit of jogging around the yard at his own "play pace' the puppy lope type of jog, being sure to switch directions and make it interesting this movement should get things moving and he should pee - just walking and stopping may not be enough of a stimulant to his little body.....we do this even with our 14 year old chihuahua he will be looking at us like "I don't need to go" and my husband will bring him in and then he begins the looking at the door, so I get my husband to run him outside and just lightly jog him across the front yard and back and he goes before he is halfway back to the steps, sometimes you just have to get inventive and think like a dog hahahaha try that and see if it helps.....

Thanks I never thought of that! I'll try it and see what he thinks!

I would add a command when your pup starts to pee outside like "hurry up" or similar. After a while you will be able to take your pup outside and give the command and he will pee!. It really does work and it means that he wont sniff around for ages before he goes. I use "hurry up" to get my dog to pee and "be quick" to get him to poo!!! Obviously you have to be pretty sure he needs to go
