...put their toys/bones away? I have been trying to work with Buddy with one toy at a time. He isn't really grasping the concept so I know it's me doing something incorrectly because he always picks up everything so quickly.

Any tips to help make this work?

Each of Skylers toys has it's own name, no two have the same name. Then, I teach her to put each of them away, now if I say put it away, she has no idea which one I'm talking about, so she puts them all away.

Got it, but how do you start? Do YOU put them away and treat her?

DJ sort of does that, totally on her own. She is so very OCD, naturally. She will play with a ball (or two, or three) and when she's done with it, takes it back to her toy box, drops it in, and picks out another one.  Of course, she also will take tomatoes off the counter and put them in her toybox if we arent watching her closely.  LOL

no, i use the touch command to get her to put her head into the bucket, chest, whatever your going to have her put them into, this way she knows what you want her to do. Then, put a toy into her mouth, have her put her head into the bucket, then tell her to drop it, when the toy goes into the bucket, you tell her to "put away your ---", then treat.  But you have got to establish a name for each toy, at least with the first few, that way you can give her a specific job. eventually, you can broaden out to "put your toys away", but its best to start with specifics. I'm sure there is probobly an easier way, but this is how I taught Skyler to put her stuff up, and she had it down pat within 3 weeks.

Great idea!   I never thought of teaching Atticus to put his toys away.   I love that!   I'm going to work on that one.
