Hi guys and gals,

So Diesel ears are cropped now, and we just removed the stitches. But instead of posting them immediately I was told to come back in a week. Is this the normal procedure? Am asking cause one of of his ears is laying flat on top of his head while the other dangles on the side of his head.

After stitches come out with mine we waited a week too, but during that week our vet had Magnum's ears taped to a cup until edges were healed after removal then posting process began. Wheather what you mentioned is common practice I'm not to sure? Someone else will probably come in and say a few words.

Ok thx Dobielove1465, was bugging out for a second. I might ask about the cup thing tomorrow and see what the vet says.

It is normal procedure to let the ears heal before posting begins.

While some will glue the ears to a cup or a foam block or whatever, some will just lie one ear over the top of the head and glue in place and then lie the other over the top of the head and glue in place.  And others don't do anything and let them dangle until it's time to post.

I wouldn't worry about it at this time.  Right now the importance is in letting the ears heal.
