Boy he is just about 12 weeks old, full of ridiclious amounts of energy. So maybe this is just normal. But he just completly ignores me when I call him. He was doing really really good, would listen when I called him, would sit, stay, lay down. Wasnt having a whole lot of problems with the potty training. Now however he is a complete opposite. He doesnt listen to any commands, he runs when I call for him. The only time he listens is when I say "go inside" then he runs straight to the door. I tell him to sit and he sits and waits for me to open the door. He will walk next to me when im walking around the yard but once he sees or smells something he is a bullet and runs for it to sniff it. Then once i call him he will run back up to me but then he is gone again. Used to be able to just call him and he would run up all happy and ready to do some training. My father just got out of a chest surgery so I havnt had time to really walk him and train with him like we were. So am I doing something wrong? or is this just like a normal thing this breed goes through? Cause it truly has me lost as to what I am doing wrong.

To me it just sounds like a puppy being a puppy. If you can get him to train 5 minutes at a time you are probably doing well during the young puppy weeks. If you need him to stay with you and he won't then you will need to leash him to you until he gets it, but puppies are always interested in new exciting things and if there is something more interesting than you at the time, expect him to go off to check it out. Puppies are loaded with energy so it takes a lot to wear out a puppy, I would try to get back to the routine that you were on as soon as possible so that he gets a sense of stability again that he remembers and then go from there. I hope there was something in here that was helpful, good luck, sometimes life just throws a curve and you have to deal with it, so as soon as your dad is well enough for you to get back to training do so.....I hope your dad is on the mend now :))

lol the mend....he is suffering from spasms on his chest and must be on oxygen as his oxygen level is to low in his blood. Brix thinks my father is playing with him cuz of the oxygen hose so he cant really go see my father right now. As for the training we are soon going to be picking up on a lot more stuff. I can keep his attention for about 5 minuets atleast if I have treats. If no treat then he will just stare right at me and run off lol. But I just keep telling myself. "deep breathes deep breathes, he is a puppy this will pass" lol

Sounds 110% normal to me.  lol  At least it sounds like I could have written it about Koko...  except for the going to the door part.  I don't even get that much.  >.>

lol he actully learned that just from repetition. I keep the leash on him when we go out at night and when I would say "ok lets go in" he would walk next to me. So over time I just took the leash off and would tell him inside and there he went. Thats about the only thing right now he does that is great. Oh but he loves the kitten lol, so much so that we have had to keep him away from the kitten so the kitten wont look like he just took a bath lol. Always uses the poor cat as a licking toy. So he isnt allowed to play with the cat. Loves stuffed animals to. Espically when he is able to make a hole and spread stuffing everywhere...real fun lol
