Kaiser who is pretty happy go lucky has taken a disliking to anything on wheels going by.  I think I may buy myself a scooter and skateboard and start riding them in the driveway to desensitize him. He also hates when I rollerblade.  He starts barking when they go by with the nasty bark he does back off when I correct but what is the issue? Motorcycles are louder and he doesn't pay any attention to those either.  Anyone else have this problem?  BTW he can pass 10 dogs without so much as a blink.

thanks Mary

A lot of dogs hate bicycles and skateboards,  I don't really know why other than they don't understand them and want you to stop.   I'd do what you said and take him places with lots of them until he gets used to them.

Rocky's been around our motorcycles, dirtbikes, bicycles and such all his life and doesn't pay any attention but he after being hit by Tye on the bicycle one day he's quickly learned to stay away from the front of them....(he wasn't hurt caught him in the back hip and sorta spun him, I think Tye was more banged up than him after landing on the ground)

Yep, the bikes, kids, and skateboards - all things to attack and kill. My collie went absolutely insane over those things, Ben is aggravated but can be called back, the chihuahua just thinks he has to bark until they go away totally. It makes for a long summer day on the porch.......

I know dogs hearing is very acute so I can only imagine that some of the moving parts must be making sounds that are inaudible to us humans but hurts their ears..... that's the only thing I can come up with.....

Lawnmowers. Gideon goes nuts whenever the neighbors are out mowing or weedeating. The collies have always done it too so he picked it up from them. Only with the neighbors though - no one barks at me when I mow.

oh yeah the neighbors dogs bark at pretty much anything mainly the smaller white pit mix but the bigger one jumps in the take part when I mow or weed-whack.  They HATE that.

Rocky really just isn't bothered by anything that I've found.   He's super laid back about any noise or moving object...
