One word:  CRATE.

At least until she is out of the chewing everything in sight stage.

She's doing it because she's a puppy, and puppies do stupid things like that when they're not being closely supervised.  So, the answer is to watch her better and/or crate her when you can't.

Glengate is correct, puppies in general and Dobie puppies in particular must be closely watched whenever they are not in their crates.  Also, it does no good to scold her afterwards, unless you catch her in the act.  If you do, a stern "NO" along with a guick, harmless correction is in order.  Then give her something appropriate for her attention; a toy, chewie, etc.  Praise her for playing with her toy, letting her know it is the right object for her attention.  Be consistant in this and she will eventually get the idea.

Not to be mean, but a properly formatted post makes it easier to read.

I completely agree with the advice here. Lots of toys and chewies!  And you have to watch closely even when you think she might totally understand.  Sometimes they choose to misbehave! Teaching her to be content in a crate will always be a plus + + + !

She is precious.. looks like a little sweetheart!

In the Google ads above the original post is an ad for "wall paper removal".

Thought it was funny !

OMG I was thinking the same thing.. but it started out to be such a serious issue and sometimes my sense of humor is mistaken for.. well.. NOT mistaken it IS a little off the wall.. thanks Gunny... I couldn't have said it better myself!! If you can't beat 'em join em. Now look what we have here:

Wood stackers, furniture movers, wall paper removers, weed whackers, drainage ditch diggers, and dragon slayers all on the same forum!!! I love our lives!

Come on LK , 11 week old puppy chews things . That never happens , LOL !

andreaj20 follow advice of above replys and you should get past this stage with no problems or at least before the 65 inch flat panel TV ends up in mount doberman in the back yard .

Keep the faith

P.S.

Found these chews , Z Ridge . Web site www.zukes.com

Andreaj20 - I once had a litter of puppies barricaded with Momma in my kitchen. When they were about 7 weeks old they decided one day to eat their way out. They ate a hole in the kitchen wall about 10' in diameter and had started on the inside of the opposite wall when I got home.

It was a good excuse to replace the wallpaper (that was completely gone for about 6' along that wall) with panelling. I had a friend help me, we took the chair rail off, cut the sheet rock off, replaced that with plywood and then panelling over it and reattached the chair rail.

If Josleen has not eaten the wallpaper too high off the carpet, you can overlay thin panelling on that wall and cover the joint with a chair rail. My chair rails in this house are centered about 29 1/2 inches off the floor.

Now you know why Doberman puppies are called little devils.   At this stage they are just too smart and inquisitive for our good.

Gunslinger-

I am always looking for new chew bones for Athena...and looked at the website you posted.  I know you said Jewel likes them.  Does she like all of the flavors, how long do they last, do they stain?  Thanks
