When I'm at school or work, I leave Ella in the bathroom. She's been using Angel's old kennel which is kind of small, so I don't like to leave her in there all day (She's getting too tall for it). And then that way she has room to play, a nice comfy bed with her teddy bear, food and water, and lots of toys and chew things. Everything she needs without being completely confined in a kennel. And she has always been fine with it.

Yesterday, I come home from work and see my house is DESTROYED! Shoes everywhere, dirty laundry, ripped magazines. Who else would do such a thing other than little miss Ella Sue. The bathroom door has a trick to lock it, (My house is old, so everything has a trick) you have to pull up on the door knob or the door pushes open. I've forgotten to do this before and came home to a destroyed house, so I thought that is what happened. WRONG!!!!

Ella chewed a hole through the bottom of the door to get out!

She chewed through the door in one day! The first day or two she came home she chewed on it, but made no damage and quickly lost interest. She hasn't chewed on the door in weeks. And I come home to this!

We immeadiately got in the car and went to PetSmart to buy her a new Kennel. And she pouted the rest of the night bc she knew momma was mad.

Ella Sue!! I'm so sorry to see that you got into trouble.. Doesnt' Mamma know you were hunting for the damned evil dragons who lurk everywhere??? ( Just between you and me, I'm' sure Angel did it.. Tell your Mom to check for magazine shreds in her teeth.. )

You look so sad in your new kennel and I have no words of comfort for you.. You look good in green.. Does that help any??

Love you

Sofia

Thanks Sofia, a true Southern Belle looks good in everything! I picked out a pretty pink tiger stripe collar and leash at PetSmart but I have to grow a little more before it fits. And mom's not mad anymore bc I've been on my best behavior today. We've just been snuggling in bed all day watching Netflix movies.

Poor baby, put in jail just for doing what little dobes do naturally, Tony and Tory ate 3 couches before they were 6 months old.  They were "kept" in the kitchen when no one was home, they ate one gate, and jumped the other one.  very bad dogs!!  but that was a long time ago (and they don't like it when I tell those stories)  Fortunally they do out grow that constant chewing, in time.  Good luck  to you all, she is a very pretty girl

Awwww, she just looks so sad!! But after seeing what the babies can do, I'm looking into crates!! lol We also keep Skye in the bathroom when we're gone.  There are a few nice gouges, but nothing serious yet. (knock on wood)

Ever since Maynard (Steve's older brother) ate through drywall to get from the laundry room to the living room at his house, I no longer let Steve hang out in his playroom (the sun room) unless I am awake!  I just have visions of chewed molding, doors, etc when I put him in there to go back to sleep ever since.  Which means the dober-whine eventually gets me up at 6:30 am on the weekends (or, hehe, Eli as I feign deep slumber)

Ella Sue, tsk tsk! Don't pout in your crate! You're lucky your mommy loves you so much!

Haha. It's good to know I'm not the only destroyer! Momma was telling her students everything I chewed up the other day, just to have one student say, "Umm... Mrs. Hickman? What happened to your shoe?" Momma looked down to see one of the straps chewed clean straight through! Yeppers, I'm the guilty party! hehe.

"Ella the Destoyer" I like that sweetpea. I'm going to start calling her that. I like your username too. My mom calls me sweetpea.

And it's good to know that I don't have the only dog that chews through walls/doors.

oh it's amazing what those little devils can do when they get bored....:) I'll have to get the pics off my home PC of Rocky's fun with the kitchen linoleum, the chair  and the cushion (all seperate occasinos).  We went through a phase of trying to leave him un-crated.....that has ended for at least another few months yet....he would be great for about 3 days, then bam - eviliness galore.  Back to the crate for a month, try again.....same thing......

He's only 1 yr but I have never had to crate a dog this long before......even my dalmation was out by 7 months.
