Pet Profiles

I need urgent advice please. I have 2 dobermans (male 2 and half, and female 10 months), and 7year old Jack Russell. Since the female went into her first heat a month ago, she has already tried to kill the Jackie 3 times. She just finished first stage training. I trained the male myself and he is a darling. But this lady appears out of control no matter what. I do not want to let her go - she is first my wife's dog, but I see the potential for attacking children here. Any ideas?

Dobermans are one of the same-sex aggression prone breeds. Hate to say it but once they've started fighting, it's pretty much just management from then on.

I've had two intact female Dobermans (now just the one) living with three intact female JRT's for the last five years and have been lucky as anything that there's not an ounce of aggression going on. SSA really isn't uncommon in the Doberman world.
