I brush Sofia's teeth three times a week and she really enjoys it. She sits like a little doe and lets me brush teeth and gums. I"ve been looking for canine toothpaste here in Mexico and they just don't  have it . Any suggestions for a brand when we go to PetSmart in the States?
BTW. Her ladyship got a manicure from a new groomer I found in Rosarito.. She uses a dremel instead of clippers making it alot easier and safer.. So fifteen minutes and five dollars ( yes $5.00) later, we were on our way to the beach for an afternoon or sun, surf and seagull hunting.
Happy Valentine's Day to all our loved ones out there in Doberland!
Love from Lady Kate and Her Royal Majesty Sofia  :-*

Thanks for the valentines greetings.  Where in Mexico are you?  I lived in Oaxaca, Chiapas , and Tabasco for a while in the 1990's.  I didn't see one doberman the whole time, or any other pure breed for that matter , just all stray mutts.

Mike and I live in Bajamar. A golf community between Rosarito and Ensenada. He teaches screen writing and coaches American football at U.A.B.C. in Ensenada. I am a fiction writer. ( chic lit Romance estrogen laded girlie books)
We were in Oaxaca, Cuernavaca, Taxco, Cholula and Puebla for a coaches conference last summer. LOVED the interior.. will send you photos if you like ( to your pers. E-mail) Mexico is renown for strays and that's how we got the queen bee. She was dumped at the guard shack ( see Sofia's story) for all the details..This thread is taking on a whole new subject, but I would love to hear what brought you to Mexico.. My email address is  katieobrian@hotmail.com feel free to write.
BTW do you know any good doggie toothpaste? (There.. back on task!)

I just haven't ever bought the stuff or maybe the foaming of a dogs mouth gives me the creeps after watching the movie cujo.

Can't watch Cujo.. cannot cannot.. and I'll only let Sofia watch the Animal Planet when they have Big Cat Diary on ( she really does like it!! ) She was all worried when Shakira faced the male lion from Red Marsh to protect her cubs!!

Kate,
I try hard to stay on top of brushing and I bought Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste, chicken flavor...YUM!!!!  NOT!!!
No ones complained about it yet.

$5 for nail trim with dremel.  That's a steal  They want $17 a dog here!!!

Annette... one more benefit of being in Mexico is the cost of living. Everything is affordable and easy to obtain. A full bath and nail trim is $20.00.Spaying and neutering is only 10-50 ( depending on size of the animal) There are some vets here that realize the importance of fixing the strays that could become a huge problem if not for their concern.
I just use plain water for the teeth brushing.. she really enjoys having it done and I'm not sure if the paste would make a big enough difference to drive into the states for "chicken flavor yum, not."
I do stay on top of it as well, as I hate for her to be put to sleep to have the full dental cleaning.
