Last January when I picked up 9 week old Princess, she did not seem overly impressed with the snow at the rest stops and the motel overnight. I promised her I would take her away from all this nasty snow and ice, and she wouldn't have to deal with it anymore.

Well, we are staying with friends in Nacogdoches, Tx and last night it appeared we would be getting snow overnight. But, the snow moved northward and then dissipated. It is cold, 28F this morning, but clear skies, so, no ice, no snow. She's not real happy about the cold on her tush when we go out, but she dosen't dally when doing her business.

Merry Christmas to all, and I hope you and your four footed families have all had a good Christmas. Give the Dobies an extra pat for me.

Just a few photos of Princess enjoying Christmas Day with a few new friends.

First she tried to convince them that she was really a Dalmatian, but the Dobermatian disguise did not fool the Schnauzers.

Next she was intrigued when the black Schnauzer (Sassie) tried to entice her to play.

However, she decided she wanted the ball that her courtiers brought her, after all, she is The Princess

The she decided she want the toy with the bell in it. The salt and pepper Schnauzer (Bitsy) was not sure, but finally decided that the Red Monster could have it.

AWWWWWW!  Those pictures are precious!!!!  As you said, she is "the Princess" and should have 1st pick of all toys!

My how she's grown since the 1st pictures of her a year ago  :D

Glad you didn"t have to break your promise to her about the snow.  Here in GA yesterday it was one of those misty, moisty days that couldn't make up it's mind whether to rain or not.  Then about sundown it decided to rain - alot!!  I don't have a rain gauge, but when I emptied out the catch tray under my orange tree I guessed we got about 1-2 inches...   Now the ground is mushier than ever!

Merry Christmas to you Mr. RGreen, and to Princess, Red & the schnauzers.  May everyone's New Year be a great year!!!

Those are great pictures RGREEN thanks for sharing!

Oh My what a classy lady you  have there. Certainly fits her name.. Love seeing Bitsy and Sassy as we've heard about them, but never got to actually see them. Cuties both!  My Mom had schnauzers and they were wonderful!
Raining here in SoCal. We promised Sofia the dog park, but alas, it's a no go. Cleaning out the garage instead and she's almost as interested in the 50 year old stock pots, ancient Christmas decor and boxes of mysteries..It's been a very sad holiday with the passing of Mike's Mom, but Sofia has been a huge comfort to whomever comes to the House.. She knows the family is in mourning and knows exactly when to snuffle her huge head under arms, look deep into our eyes and tell us. "I know"

Lady Kate - there is nothing like the comfort of a loving dog when some one is suffering or grieving. I know it was an effort to bring her with you, but it certainly was worth it.

UPDATE!
PROMISE BROKEN!
ROYALTY DISPLEASED!

Where is that famous Global Warming when we need it? This evening we have received a slight amount of snow, less than an inch and it is rapidly melting. If HRH had not needed to go out about 15 minutes ago we may not have known. The rear deck is slushy and the yard is white.

I tried to explain the HRH about the unusual weather but her response was "Off with his head!" of I think that is what she was saying as I did not have a translator present.

According to the new, the U.S. Weather Service is reporting on this day all lower 48 states have snow on the ground on the same day. Maybe for the first time in recorded history. (Florida had a small amount of snow on the ground in Pensacola).
