Yes he is such a handsome boy! I love his dark red coat. Izzy is a dark red too. I wonder will they lighten up?

Typically not. A former breeder in this area once described the color to me a mahogany. He made that comment when I took my first male (Hans) over to him about the time I was purchasing my second female (Trudy) in 1991. All of his dogs except one, which was his wife's house pet, were in his kennels beside the house. At the time, he had only one red, that she was his wife's house pet. She was the lighter orange-red color.

Princess and Red are also the mahogany shade. Some who are new tend to call them "chocolate" but when viewed in the sunlight they are definitely not brown.

Obviously, I for one have a weakness for the reds.

Well I chose his name because he definitely has his his own strong personality, and well I played this game called God of War and the protagonist is a man named Kratos.  I looked it up on google and its an ancient Greek word for power and strength I figured that would be the perfect name for him so here we are.  I know it's not very fascinating the fact that I found his name on a game but I just really liked it because it's different.  Plus, I highly believe it suits him.

I read on a Dobe website reference made to dark red/rusts as a deep red/rust. I kind of like that best, so Sage is a deep red/rust Dobe.
