i have had dobies for 17 years and this past year i lost Tate ( 14) and Gabby (8) - my husband and I adoped two new dobies from DRU in New Hampshire ;

Havi a male (3) and Heidi (23 months) . Heidi is the problem child but has come a long way since we adopted her in July - she came from a bad situation with a bad breeder but she is doing better now. she was recently enrolled in Obedience class and after that im thinking of starting Agility (maybe) but i dont know to much about the sport.....

Havi is my hubbys shadow - goes fishing and is a big couch potato

Welcome to the forum. I think it is Wonderful that you have adopted the Dobes, their are to many out their that need adoption. I cant believe that Tate lived to 14 you don't often hear that. You were blessed with him for a long time.

We started agility with our dogs last year. It has been a blast! The dogs love it my daughter and I love it. I would encourage you to take a class and try it out. I think you would have a lot of fun. Good exercise for owner and dog.

You were indeed fortunate to have one live to 14, that is the longest I know of now. I lost Hans my first male (a red and my second Dobe) when he was 11 1/2 back in 95. I still think of him occasionally even though I have had several since. I salute you for your adoption of the rescue Dobes.
