You know, I was wondering the same thing. I brush Sofia at least three times a week to get the loose hairs off, but still sweep up what seems to me a LOT of hair every day. There's no thinning places on her. I do give her a scrambled egg in a little  butter once a week, and have at times added a tsp of olive oil to her kibble. Her coat is shiny and healthy looking, but when I heard that Dobermans 'don't shed" I was surprised at the amount of hair I would find on the floor, and yes, it's by her bed..

thanks i have the same issue....

My Dobes shed quite a bit. My oldest who doesn't have a proper coat sheds more than the others. If I don't sweep daily I get quite a pile of it (we have 4 in the house) Dobermans shed just like any other breed. I'm just thankful that it doesn't float around like the longer coated breeds. We have had a few different breeds in for fostering and I much more prefer it falling to the ground to be swept and vacuumed rather than the other that just seems to float around.

I swear daily when I'm sweeping that I could build a new dog!
