I know that there are advertisements allowed on this forum, but do we have to let people put ridiculous personal ads up.

Let me just tell you now "NO, I DO NOT WANT TO MEET STEPHANIE"

#1 I am married

#2 I am a girl

#3 I am not lesbian

#4 the fact tha tshe is in an advertisement makes me feel icky that she only lives 2.8 miles from me. which brings me tooooooo

#5 How does anyone know where I am, I am currently working approx. 45 miles from my house.

Just a rant, I was wondering if I am the only one that sees the Heather Locklear look a like or not.

At the very beginnig the ads were random, but now I have started to noticed they are all for websites I have been to.  It is like it is learning who I am... creepy!  Try clearing out your cookies on your browser and see if that helps.

The cookies will help...if you use the google search engine, adsense and such is linked with that, and they do track your history...it's a way of personal advertising. I would try using proxy searching, make sure to regularly clear your cookies, and if the ads bother you that much, there is always Adblack ;) This is a free ad blocking tool that you can download for Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. It is an extension, so basicly a browser download. Great tool!

I get creeped out by it too. I also have been on the reverse side - with the newsletter I created for the first rottie group I worked for our newsletter program allowed for me to see reports and stats on who (email addresses only) had opened their newsletter and what links within the newsletter were clicked - that way I could tell whether a particular adoptable dog was not getting anyone clicking to see them which would mean a better bio would be a good idea so people wanted to click in, and if after a week or so I could email the person and ask them to please open their newsletter if I knew them enough to do that; and I got alerts if someone threw the newsletter into spam folder, now that is really bad they had a limit of 4 per month that could go to the spam folder before you got locked out so when I emailed this stranger and professionally explained that if it was an accident that maybe they could set their filters to accept the newsletter and explained that we had a spam limit before we would not be able to send out a newsletter, she emailed me back and said after much thought she thought I was spying on her and sneaking into her email program and lurking inside her computer, I tried to explain that every where she ever went on the internet had some form of tracking where she went, the newsletter was about as benign as she could get. It was just recognizing emails and what mailbox was doing what with THEIR program and throwing it into spam bounced it back to the program I was NOT in her computer spying but she never got it. It was funny and sad all at the same time. But there is alot of intrusion into our surfing and homepages that I don't like either. that's why I don't do facebook. I am pretty stealth online this is the only place I let go and show who I am......

Good luck with getting those ads cut down......can you go into preferences for your homepage and set anything in there?? I too have noticed some not so nice ads on this homepage too.....when you figure it out let us know so we can fix it too, :))

Yeah, I have a zoosk ad right now but it doesn't bother me. I think it has to do with age range or something :I I dunno, I think it's stupid.

I don't care about the advertising materials and such, but I do not get where I could possible be going to send the message that I would be interested in some female companionship in my area.  I actually access this forum from my work computer mostly, and I work for the Jackson County, Missouri Courts - Budget Office.  I assure you I am not doing anything weird from their computers.  Anyways I will clear the cookies on this computer and my work computer on Monday.

Thanks I was really more wanting to know if it was just me getting the personal ad or if it just pops up random through this sight.

I have an ad for MDG computers.  Finance a laptop & get a second one free!  Still a lousy deal since you are paying 6 X the price than if you paid cash!

I'm the opposite I can't do anything to "hurt" any animal but I can deal with human stuff just fine, but an injured animal breaks my heart I am still calm in a crisis but I suffer personally after an animal situation where with people I just go on, guess it comes from so much time in a hospital, but I worked for a vet hospital and yet still couldn't inject an animal or anything.....
