Basically I think most of his ideas are sound.. but like any training.. things should be tailored for your pet..

The " No look, no talk, no touch" does NOT work for us.. I still love to meet and greet and their zoomies when we come in the door makes me happy.

Establishing pack order however, is paramount.

What do you think K-9;s??

I have a sign posted on my front door...."please ignore the doberman until she calms the hell down!"

She is only 6 months old but knows she does NOT get any attention acting like a goof at the front door. Let me in, give me a little space, then I'm all yours kid!

I enjoy watching Cesar Milan's show, and I have a world of respect for him.  I do, however, think that all breeds have their own special qualities, and their own quirks, and each individual dog has to have personalized training to fit in with their particular family and their ways.  Not everything that Cesar says or does with a dog on his tv show is something that would necessarily work with everyone or with every dog--certainly not with me and my dogs.  But...he does have a lot of good things to teach us, so I do watch him and and am always impressed with the things he does on screen and off.

I love what he does, how he does it, and I am envious of him!! Lol! I also have tons of respect for him. I have a couple of Ceasar's books, and they are packed full of stuff! Which I can read them over and over again, and still there's things to learn. I think the No Touch No Talk No Eye Contact is a very good idea, but what good does it do a dog if your the only one that does to them? Wether is your dog or someone else's. Though I make a habit of making sure my dog is not jumping off the walls before I pet her, and I don't really like petting a dog that's tense with over excitement either:) I have read a lot of other people's comments on him, and some of them get pretty nasty!
