Just sitting here watching Hurricane Irene coverage and according to Fox news the path of this will go directly over our house......just can't wait. While I still have electricity, I thought I'd check in.I hope all of you down on the southeast coast are all pulling through this safely. This is definately one of those times when you look at your Furkids all comfy, because they have no clue whats coming, and you feel a little jealous.

So far since June we've seen a Tornado,an earthquake, and now this hurricane. The way I see it, all that's left for us is a volcano this summer. This is supposed to be Massachusetts! Can't wait to see what winter will look like.

Stay safe East Coasters!I'll check back when it's over if I didn't float away.

Be careful, be safe, and for heaven's sakes HANG ON!!!  Got all your supplies?  Water?  First Aid kit?  Something to cook on when the power goes out?

Please check back in when you can to let us know you're safe!

Prayers & positive dobervibes to everyone in the path of the storm,

Marti, Brinks, MiLady - and Heather & Haley

And I wouldn't be a bit surprised if that volcano popped up sometime this fall - just to complete the "disaster" cycle

Mark--praying for the safety of everyone in Irene's path, and especially for those that I know...like you, my friend.  I've been watching the Weather Channel this afternoon, and one of the reporters was on the scene in Virginia Beach, Va and it honestly was all he could do to stand upright--the wind was just about to pick him up and toss him away.  Stay safe, make sure you have drinking water and batteries.  And the dogs will figure out soon enough that something isnt quite right.  Check back when it all blows over and let us know you're ok.

I am no stranger to hurricanes. We stayed here for Katrina and was out of power for a month. Thank God for generators.

Prayers going your way. Please let us know you're safe and well as soon as you can.

Stay safe, thanks for checking in!  Waiting for your "All's clear, we're okay!" later on.  I have a lot of friends over there in the path of Irene, makes me so nervous.

Stay safe. Hopefully you are not in a low lying area. I don't think you will get too much from the hurricane, as by the time it gets up to you it will just be a very wet tropical storm. Your risk is probably more from flooding than anything. The other big risk they are talking about is that fact that NE has had a wet summer and the ground is soft, and now this will take down a lot of trees. Yesterday, Fox News was showing some old MovieTone newsreel footage of the Hurricane that hig New England in 1938, and it was the flood waters that did all the damage.

Stay safe and check in when it is over. I remember ChipNDobe had to check in initially by smart phone for they didn't have any electricity at first after the Tornados in Ala.

Well,Massachusetts was just no match for Irene! The course shifted just after New York city and the eye went about 50 miles west of us,through the Berkshires. It really just began to break up midway through Connecticut and weakened into a tropical storm.A few leaves and tiny branches fell and that's about it for us.Never even lost power.Better safe than sorry,so really no complaints. In fact, the sun just came out and it's supposed to be a beautiful week.

You're right rgreen, the flooding is now beginning.Rivers are swelling and a few roads are washed out,but I'm on high ground and don't need to worry much about that. The coast looks like a real mess.Fortunately (I guess) the Tornado in June already took down a lot of trees around us,so not much to worry about with trees. The colder air and water really seem to knock out these storms as they approach.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes.I sincerely hope all is well for you and your families that may have been in harm's way.I hope you all check in when possible.

As far as the furbabies go,they didn't notice a thing. They've been laying around all day being lazy, without a clue about why we all seemed a little nervous today.

Thanks again everyone! Mark,Zoe,Brody, and Maggie   (Here's an old picture but very similar to their positions all day today)
