Pet services 'company' name?

A little bit of background info:
I own my own business. It's a combination of training, pet sitting, boarding, and grooming. I've been working on coming up with a 'company' name for at least 2 years. My closer friends alway's called it Kayemm's Place.. but, I'm afraid in the area I live, using "Kayemm's" probably isn't the best way to go because no one knows how to say it. (long story short, it's pretty much my initials spelled out)

I wouldn't even worry about it, but I really would like to get a website up and have a professional edge to it... which means finding a name that works and doesn't sound too 'baby-ish.' I figure I'll use something like ____ Pet Services, or _____'s Place, because I will eventually have a building to create my business in, like a pet resort.. kindof.

Does anyone have any thoughts, suggestions, or opinions?

I will think on it some more and hopefully come up with a few more.

Oh goodness, there is a lot of talent here.  I hope you'll let us know what your choice is.  I want to hear what you decide.  Lots of great ideas to choose from or combine a few and come up with a new one!

"Barkingham Palace" was on Tabatha Takes Over.  There were two owners and they had different management styles and the place was close to going under. I hope they have turned their business around and are doing okay.  These two owners had put everything they had into it.

Was that in Greenville, SC, or is there another one? I'm sure with that cute of a name there is more than one.

I've really been thinking on it.. to no avail, really. D:

I thought about using things around me, in addition to things I like and came up with these:

Clear Meadow Pet Services

Foothills Pet Services/ Foothills Pet Place (although, there's a petshop about an hour away called the Pet Place, so maybe not a good idea for that name.. but I like the Foothills part.)

I don't really use 'resort' much because I don't have a building to work from. I work out of my home to train and groom, and pet sit by going to houses. Though eventually I'd love to have a Foothills Pet Resort. :D

Thought about adding words such as Moon, Wolf, Gentry, Blue, Sky, Nature, etc.

Try working with the Foothills with the suggestions above like:

Foothills Teach Me Treat Me Pet Services

Foothills Bark N Meow Services

Foothills Here & There Pet Services (since you work where you live and at their houses too)

Foothills Here Or There Pet Services

Foothills Paws N Claws (good one Kate)

Foothills Doggie Den

Foothills Caring for Critters

Foothills Everything Animal

Foothills Animal Adventures

Good luck finding a name and having it feel good and stick is hard but we are all having fun with it, it's an adventure.......

I would just say try to make the first word something that people can remember so they can look it up for the phone number.  I still use the old fashioned phone book and can always find something if I can just remember the first word.  Good luck!

wow, somebody else that knows what a phonebook is!!! I love em and use em all the time.....I agree a name needs to stick and make sense it helps if the name is something catchy that you can at least remember part of it......

I just googled "how to name your business".  There are all kinds of sites with the do and don't on business naming.  They might be helpful too.

How does everyone feel about "Here and There Pet Services."

My first thought was "Here and There Pet Care," but if I'm not mistaken, there's a place in Cali with that name.

Then again, I kindof like "Unleashed Pet Services."

What do all of y'all think?

Here & There Foothills Pet Services??

that gets the fact that you can sit "here" at your place or "there" at their place and it's located in Foothills and it is a Pet Services business kinda sums it all up in the name which to me as a consumer is always helpful, just tossing it out there.

More about the phone book.. If you pick a name that starts with "A" You'll be one of the first in the Yellow Pages.. ( that's why we see so many Triple A thingys)

So. I think I may have it. (Sorry it's taken soooo long!)

Thank you all for your input and support! (Much love! <3  )

What do you all think of a shop called...

I'm attempting to expand business-- but I'm unsure if I should group together my pet services and supply with my 'other' products that I sell.

I make (homemade) all natural products (like lotion, lip balm, soap, bath salts, etc.)
I also make (homemade) natural products for dogs (soaps, smellies [cologne], treats, etc.)
Then, of course, is my pet sitting, and training.

I like it!!! I am like you, not sure whether to add the animal services to this, as the name basically tells you what you are offering and in that particular name I don't get animal services, but I am sure you can figure out how to make it work if that's what you want, it's a great logo design too!!! It's very "green" in visual appeal........bravo!!!!

Of course, when I'm sitting (if it's done in my home) it's in a holistic and natural enviroment (none of that icky 'non-natural' stuff is in my place, anymore). And I'm starting to use homemade treats for training, also.

All in all, I'm still unsure. D:  lol.

I know when I named my own business and had to come up with short 3-5 word descriptions for events for groups I worked with, cause each letter cost money I did an experiment and I got the phonebook out, yep those old musty things called books, and I went through the yellow pages looking at business names and asking myself "if I just saw this name would I know instantly what they were and be interested" I noticed that if the name had nothing to do with the product or services I just ignored it cause I knew if I had the business card I would not know what it was for. That showed me that I needed to try to come up with something that identified my business or the events in about 3 words 5 at most and it's very hard but it can be done. Natural Evidence I wouldn't know what the business was except that it was natural meaning probably green in some way and that would keep me interested, the evidence part would have me stumped but I would be interested. Neither of those words would indicate to me if I was in a hurry looking for a pet service that that would be the business card I would need to pull to call. Does that make sense?? I know for me having only one leg and being an artist I balance better barefoot when I do murals and I was painting a mural in a huge house and the man came home and said he just had to ask if being barefoot was some sort of trademark for me and it got me to thinking so my business is called "The Barefoot Artist" everyone knows that's me always barefoot and being an artist it's like being the 'starving' artist too, if you're starving you're barefoot most likely hahahahahaa, anyway that's a long sorted story, but if you are having trouble maybe try that experiment and see if by looking at other business names you can have something jog your mind or "click" as far as combining the two or just making one for each. I do like the Natural Evidence though.....for all the holistic products. And others I have talked to insist that you come up with a name that will put you first in the listings which isn't a bad idea......have you thought about Holistic Evidence??  or Holistic Canine or Holisitc Pet? I will keep trying to come up with something for the animal side of things. How about Holistic People & Pet or Natural Evidence People & Pet that's 4 words and the ampersand......

I think it's great that you have the homemade treats!!! I have such a hard time finding good treats for Pepe our little seizure dog, he has to have totally veggie treats and they are hard to find on the shelf I always have to order them...

Lady Kate, you're always welcome to email me and I'll get you a list of stuff I plan to offer until I can get my website up and running, or make special requests (since I love this forum soooo much!).

Tal, I'd LOVE to try and make some treats for Pepe, if you'll get me a list of his likes & dislikes, and the no-no's. :D

Well his list of No No's are anything with protein.......his dog food has to have a protein count of less than 16% so when he eats his dog food he is limited on treats even veggies cause any protein over and above his food at meals can send him into seizures so the least amount of protein is a good thing.

He loves all fruits and veggies - his most favorite fruits are cantaloupe, watermelon, and honeydew his favorite veggies are sweet potatoes, corn, squash, zucchini

He is not a fan of green beans, he will eat them but not crazy about them. And we always make sure his treats are tiny he has a trachea that collapses easily so we keep treats tiny by breaking them into a bit less than half inch squares and only about a 1/4 inch thick he is old and his teeth are not as sharp so he has a bit of difficulty snapping hard treats in bits to eat.

Thank you for wanting to help him, he really loves his treats and it's sad to not be able to find any for him that he can have......

Reigniting an old post.. (insert dramatic music here).

What do you guys think of:

Habitat Dog

I instantly think you might be a rescue - don't ask why but that was the first thing that popped into my head.....glad to hear you are still "on" it and working on this I have wondered how it was going, :))

Habitat would create a correlation to "Habitat for Humanity" this was the first thing that popped into my head, which then also made me more inclined to think rescue as well.

What about Panorama Dog or Doggie Kaleidoscope, these sound more playful and productive than rescue.

Just a few more thoughts.
