St. Louis Cardinals fan over here!
I wish Wainwright didn't have to have surgery... Kind of put a damper on my whole season.

My grandmaw was a HUGE Mets fan. That was her team. I watch them for her now. So I guess you can say they're my second favorite team.

Well, there's a loblolly that's a holly bush...  I always thought that Hobby Lobby just took whatever they could find that rhymed with hobby!  Especially since a "lobby" is usually the term used for doctor's waiting rooms, hotel entrance rooms, etc...

Kate, didn't southern CA have Hobby Lobby stores?

I can talk baseball all day...

I'm not well versed in artsy stuff. I was a daddy's girl (still am) and sports were our thing.

Katie, Thank you!  I knew there was something about baseball I got.

And Patriot and Brody,  I watched some games between the Rangers and somebody.  We live just a few from Arlington.  Was it the World Series? Anyway had a heart throb for the long hair pitcher on the other team. (Girl thing!)  What a steel mind, sharp focused kid!  Who am I talking about?  I'm terrible with names and rules when it comes to sports.

Does Janis Joplin mean anything to you?  I hope you are LOLin' and not frownin'!

from bbroyles:Ok, what's your favorite hotdog?

Nothin' but a Chicago dog.  All beef dog, poppyseed bun, (NO KETCHUP)  Mustard, relish, onions, medium-hot peppers, tomato slice and a dill pickle spear. YUM-O.    Oh--did we get a little off-topic again?  Sorry.

My dad was a big baseball fan. He at one time in the late 20's worked in the front office of the Toledo Mudhens. They used to have exhibition games between the Mudhens and the MLB team for which they were a farm team - they Yankees. I actually have a few game prepared baseballs with some interesting signatures on them from the late 20's.

He later became a big NL fan when we lived in Cincinnati and was a Reds fan. Then we moved to Texas, and when I was 10 we moved to Houston. We used to go out to see the exhibition games between the Cardinals and their farm club the Houston Buffalos. Then of course in 1960, the Colt .45s were founded and changed their name a few years later to the Astros.

Sorry Kate, but during this time the Dodgers were hated. I still don't really care for them. I am happy anytime the Red, Cardinals, Astros or Braves win. I don't pay a lot of attention to the season though. I am primarily a NASCAR fan, then an NFL fan, and only then pay any attention to baseball.

Probably a result my my moving around so much and being so occupied with other things when I was in the Navy (Aviator) and then when I finished graduate school and went to work for a company that also moved you around a lot.

That would be Tim Lincecum. Plays for the Giants.

The Freak!! Amazing talent.. Love the kid!

Can't give up on my Dodgers though.. Mike and I were at the SAME game watching Sandy Kofax with his no hitter, many many years ago..(We didn't meet each other in person til 2001..but crossed paths so often, it would make a good story.. hey.. why didn't I think of that???)

Followed the Braves even during the lousy years and anyone batting against the Yankees!!

Lincecum is one of my favorite pitchers. Of course my favorites are Wainwright and Carpenter from the Cardinals...

I was at the game that Albert Pujols hit his 300th career homerun. It was amazing. I'll have to dig up a picture.

Junior is one of the coolest people I have ever met- His mother and Father and all his siblings as well. They are from a town about 5 minutes from where I grew up... Darrell (his cousin) was all set to go to the NFL, he played for Cincinnatti (university not Bengals) in the 90's and he got hurt his Senior year and had to give up those dreams... Ken would come to some of his HS games and the little boys would walk up and down the bleachers tripping over each other just to get  a glimpse. HE was always so gracious... would sign autographs and just be so sweet with the little boys who idolized him...
