Hey guys, remember the cat that I took in recently to get spayed and the vet said that she had already been spayed and that she was 99% sure of that fact - WELLLLLLL we have kittens, so how many of you guys want one, hahahaha they are only about 5 days old, we have NO idea where she had them we have not seen them obviously since they are not walking yet, but her belly is gone and she is lactating - wait till I call that vet office to find out when to bring BACK in, in the meantime I will have to tame and find homes for kittens. Been here 20 years in this house and never had kittens in the neighborhood till now. There is a relentless hawk in the area that usually stays in our backyard so I hope like ....... he does not spot momma bringing her babies to the house for food which I know she will, I just couldn't deal with that, you would hear me screaming from here to wherever you are.

Well, that's a surprise, I'm sure!!!  I can't take a kitty - Gabe would keep wanting to herd it up and put it in a pen.

;-)

Let's hope they find their way in safely.

Well now if Gabe wants to learn herding I can donate a whole litter of kittens for him to herd - much better than just one, hahahahahahaha

I don't know how many there are she has yet to try to bring one to us we have yet to figure out exactly where she goes, as long as we are watching she will not move to go to them so I figure one day soon I will look out there will be a line of pretty little kittens heading to the food bowl on the porch - then I will know. Lord help I hope she only had one or two and not 8, dear lord it's been a decade or more since I had to tame a litter of kittens. And of course cats are the hardest animal to find homes for cause of all this folklore of cats/babies and cat scratch fever and stuff, people are freaky about cats. There is a one year waiting list at ALL the rescues here for cats, so I have no idea what I am going to do; we already have 4 stray cats that visit us outside and 5 of my own inside so I cannot take in anymore - can I cry now???

Not to mention that if they can't find homes they will be outside cats and no matter how many there are I have to find the funds to fix them ALL........

I wish I could take one, but after the cat, rat, bunny, 2 ferrets and Skye, I highly doubt my dad will let me take one. Sorry. I hope you find lots and lots of really good kitty people to take them home!! :D

Oh that was sweet wolf girl I really didn't mean that any of you guys should step up and take one but thanks for even thinking about it. I still haven't seen or heard them yet so I don't know that they are on my little piece of property but I felt that she would choose here since we are fenced and safe from dogs and predators. Maybe next week she will bring them around.... I will be sure and snap some baby pics if possible.

I have a few on my hands as well D: I found homes for half of them right now and they'll be ready by the time I graduate. A few of them are a bit wild, but hopefully my parents will help me take care of that :T

Everytime one of you guys says that you found babies that you need homes for, my heart does a little flip inside my chest and the little voice in my brain tells me that there is another baby that needs somebody and I always want to just take the babies and make their lives good. It's just in my nature to want to take at least one home. Not to mention that we just got contacted about a family of a momma and 9 new puppies that need a foster family. We've been labeled dog foster people, so the shelter won't contact us about kitties anymore. Like I said, good luck with finding them some good people!!!

Tali.. can you tell if Mama is nursing? I know almost NOTHING about cats, except they seem to be the gift that keeps on giving.. Bless you.. I know what a full plate ( make that PLATTER) you have already.

hahahahaah yes lady kate we have a "full house" that's a good thing in poker but not when it's animals. Yes the pretty little girl is lactating but she doesn't feel as if she has a bunch of kittens as she is only full on a couple of breasts, plus she is very scarce nowadays and I know that is common while they are caring for the newborns. Oddly enough this is something I have alot of experience with, all my life mother cats and their babies have come to me. The first cat to bring me her newborn was when I was 12 years old and she literally carried it right to me and dropped it in my hands, and that was the start of the newborns, the first litter I tamed was when I was only 7 years old, we had a cat show up and she had kittens and I tamed them it took me 3 months of hard work daily of sitting on the ground where they were within eyesight talking to them and getting them comfortable with me as a person, taming a litter of kittens takes patience and more patience. As soon as I see a glimmer of kittens I will let you all know.

All of the outdoor cats I've known would also at some point bring you their kittens but they seemed to always wait a couple weeks from what I remember.

Well guess what??? The little girl went back into heat!!!! yep, seems that she can and did go immediately back into heat. I called to see what can be done but with kittens of course she cannot be spayed as the stitches present a problem with nursing kittens, so they want to wait 3 more weeks, but in the meantime Monkey Face the gray/white male is relentless about chasing her. Today he wouldn't let he even sit down for a second, I chased him around the yard with the broom, how funny a picture was that??? me on crutches, one leg, chasing a determined male cat with a broom with a female cat running even faster, good lord...... she never got to slow down enough to eat, drink or rest. She was unable to go see the kittens with this Monkey on her back, literally. Seems that male cats will kill the kittens in order for the female to go back into heat. So this makes us all wonder if the kittens are even alive. After a whole day of chasing cats with brooms tonight Velcro from the street behind us the male black cat that has a screw loose, came up and picked a fight with Monkey Face we actually let them get into a slight tangle so the girl could run away unnoticed back to her kittens - once she was gone we had the broom (hubby was home by then) and I had to grab the first thing I could which was a handful of their food outside and throw that at them, that was different hahahaha and they separated and at that point Velcro headed back home and hubby picked up Monkey Face cause he was headed back after the little girl, and lo and behold a minute ago there they were again playing it all out on the porch again, this time I did not go out with the broom, I'm tired can't do it anymore today, tomorrow is yet another day.......this will make for a LOOOOOONG 3 weeks until she can be spayed.

Okay.. here's whatcha doo... Put some kitty tranqs in some lovely tasty Monkey food.. get Mr. Randy sleepy and whisk him off to the vet, have him neutered and voila. Mama can get some much needed rest along with the rest of your family.

BTW Tali, it's only 7 a.m. here, I've only had half a pot of coffee and I'm laughing so hard, I'm spitting the second half pot through my nose..  ( sorry) but you DO paint a great picture!! What would we all do without your sense of humor?

FILM CLIP AT 11.   !!

Glad you like my sense of humor, hahahahaha, they were back it today, my goodness that Monkey Face is something else. We had considered neutering him BUT we have 4 other male cats that are stalking her too, so we are trying to get HER spayed first, hahahahaha then we can pick off the males one by one and fix 'em, hahaha

and if they are not strays then the jokes on their owners, we did get the little girl microchipped so imagine the owners surprise if they ever take her to the vet and the vet says you know your cat is microchipped.
