Rockstar and I were walking this morning and we came across this poor guy.

His teeth are great, nails are great, he walked on leash fine. He walked right up to me when I called him and was tolerant of Rocky. He seems like a well socialized family dog, so hopefully we can find his owners before too long. I'm thinking maybe 9-10 years old? That might be a little high, but sadly, the rabies vacc tag on his collar dated back to 2006. The address and phone number were for a vet clinic in FL (I live in Cali..). I called and left a message. I'm also calling the shelters around here and lost&found websites. If you guys could send good vibes and prayer that we find his family, that would be great! We'll get him scanned for a microchip as soon as possible! His eyes are so sad, but he is taking everything in stride. I hope he's happy, knowing we are taking care of him. Whenever we approach him, his tail starts wagging and if we pet him, he rests his head on our legs. I hate seeing older dogs without a home :(

Awww...what a sweetie pie. Prayers sent that his family is found, and that they love him and miss him.

God bless you for being his guardian angel.

Oh my!!!! I will keep my fingers crossed that he finds his home; he does look to be around 9 or so for certain and it could be his eyes are failing and that could be how he got lost; but if he came from florida just 6 years ago would seem kinda strange in my opinion unless someone moved, went on vacation and lost him or he was taken from someone. I hope the vet calls you back with some information. Looks like he fits in ok right now and seems to be a sweet boy; keep us posted on his search for his home....

Thank you Abigail, for taking this dear old guy in. He does look sad and has the 'lost dog' look. I will pray that his tag will lead you to the owners. It looks to me as if he's been on his own for a while and your love and comfort is probably the only ones he's had for a goodl ong time. Bless you

Well I have some troubling news...we found this large, hard, black lump on his belly, near his stomach. We'll be going into our vet clinic today to have him scanned for a microchip, might as well have him checked out too. It's money I don't really have, and I'm worried that whatever the vet finds out won't be very good :( It honestly makes me so incredibly sad to think of the possible outcomes. What if his family abandoned him because they couldn't pay for it? Will I have to put him down? I'm trying hard to keep my mind and heart in an objective place. Whatever happens, it's in God's hands. I found him for a reason...

Bless you for taking him in, yes he came to you for a reason and it is in God's hands. Saying a pryer that he is alright and that his family is looking for him and wants him home.

Well, WONDERFUL news! We found her family (yes, turns out she is a girl. My little sister checked, apparently got it wrong and I didn't think about confirming. Whoops). They sounded very relieved and excited to know where she was and are coming to get her within 30 minutes! Yay!!
