Hello everyone....what is the general thought on Kongs / Also more importantly what is the general thought on "KONG STUFF " what you put into Kongs ??
Good bad or indifferent ?
I would be very interested to know what our friends on here think of giving it to their "Dobes".

My Ziva totally LOVES her Kong.  I had a red one, but she somehow chewed one of the sections off of it, so I bought the heavy duty black one and it has held up for 6 months now.  I tried the "Kong Stuff" in a can and didnt like it so much, so I stuff hers with a concoction of peanut butter, small pieces of hard dog biscuit, more peanut butter, a couple more dog biscuits, and top it off with cheese.  She loves it.  She even carries it around with her and sleeps with it when it's been empty for days.

Morning mate, thanks for your reply, very interesting.

I will try different concoctions in Busters.

Incidentally I have replied to a thread in the "Training" section, I am worried about the subject if you want to have a look.

Buddy loves his Kong..and the peanut butter flavored Kong stuffing....But I give him the kong stuffing in moderation...too much will give him the runs!!!...another idea for people who dogs are picky eaters of their kibble...put some of the kibble into the kong...getting whatever in the Kong out is a game for the dog and he should eat that kibble he usually picks over when it is in his bowl.

Well Pete, my baby is just not a Kong lover.  He will lick out whatever I put inside and then just not chew on it.  Did anyone's dog "grow" into them later?? Or was it love at first chew?

Sorry I'm not much help.  Thought I might hang around and find some ideas myself!

Raven loved the mini one we had - Cisco was not a big fan of it as a wee one. I had tho throw mini one out when cisco started to swallow everything he could fit down his throat. I am leary to buy them (would have to buy 2) and he still not be into them- I got these barbells you stick treats in and they both lost interest in those quickly- so maybe saturday at petsmart I will give the kongs a go again...

Spike loves the kong. i put peanut butter and that cheese tht sprays out of a can inside and he goes nuts. he wedges his kong between the couch and floor so it wont move and will just lay there and lick it all out til its gone. then he takes the kong in his mouth(already empty) and places it in front of lily and when she goes to sniff his he steals hers. aww my poor lily gets kong jacked everytime she keeps falling for it.

Sofia totally ignored her Kong, stuffed or un. She took a couple of swipes at the peanut butter, but that was it..She's not much of a chewer...

This was a long time ago....maybe it's time to try again.

Sophie & Loren only like them when they are filled. The little girls don't even look at them, they are true divas!! They love the sweet potatoes I do for them in the dehydrater.

@cisco- maybe try the Kong Genius. It is shaped differently.

I think I messed the idea of the Kong up for Laith. I associated it with bed- so when I fill it, he runs to his crate. Other than that, he is not much for it.

River loved his kong. on really hot days i would tape up the small hole and pour chicken broth into it and then tape up the other end and stick it in the freezer. kept him buzy for a long time and he loved it. id also put in peanut butter mixed with kibble or treats i would throw in a ton of different things so he had lots of flavor and it kept him occupied
