Well well, it just never ends around here with the cats!! seems that the kittens papa, the stray cat that brought Pretty Girl to us who had the kittens this past July; well he injured his back toe seriously and required me to do the sneak up, snatch and grab that puts your life on the line with a stray cat, hahaha, but I finally got the little stinker after 4 years of trying, with the toe like it was it was not as if he could take off running. I sat on the porch, talked to him, took the blanket he liked and rubbed him and played with him, slowly moved the cat carrier to the floor putting it on end, and then rubbed the blankie on him one more time and wrapped him quickly in it to secure his legs from scratching me and dropped him in the carrier and locked it. WHEW!  that was a once in a lifetime grab.....

Needless to say I told the vet that while he was in for his toe surgery to neuter him, vaccinate him, and microchip him......he got the works!! I then told the vet to please keep MonkeyFace for 4 days for me while I tended to my mom's serious health issues, in fact I had to rush Monkey Face in on my way to get my mom :( so they kept him until that Friday and then called and said he had to come home cause no one would be at the hospital to tend to him over the weekend, dang.....poor Benie Baby had to give us his crate to set up for the stray cat; Ben got the crate we used for the kittens and momma, hahahaa he was not too happy since it is an airline approved crate so it's not as open whereas his crate is nothing but wire......we thought this was going to be a 1 week deal and the vet agreed Monkeyface could go out in a week. NOPE, his foot got weird looking and I took him back and he had to have another surgery!!! and this was over a month ago!!! he is still inside with his (Ben's) crate.....at this point Momma kitty is kinda snubbing him, she was his girl and she is snubbing him....he talks to her all the time and she will go in and say hi, but then walks away like "see I get the run of the house you don't na na na na na", the kittens remember him but not enough to not hiss at him; our regular house kitties don't want him in here at all after all they had to accept momma kitty and kittens over night now this??? He is crated in that huge 42x48 crate until 6pm and gets to come out to be monitored until 11pm he sits with me. He has avoided bad weather with this scenario but now it's been so long since being inside that we can't bring our hearts to accept that he will need to be put back outside - so we are struggling with what to do.......he will most likely be a cat that will spray but we won't know that for a while yet......he does have an attitude meaning that if our guys do their regular hissing spitting fighting stuff (they are declawed monkey is not) then Monkey will pull his regular self and get involved and end the fight in an ugly injurous way......

I am venting a bit cause I just don't want to have 9 cats in the house!!!! I was excited to be down to 4 when Malta arrived I agreed to 5 (we have had 10 but I was younger and more capable) but after Malta came Momma and 3 kittens bringing us to 9 but 3 were tiny - adopted one out and that left us with 8 but now Monkey brings us back to 9.......Oh well we will do what we have to do......Ben is struggling daily to keep a claim on his dog beds and has gotten to where he picks up his bone and drops it on the hardwood floor so it makes a horrible bang hoping it will scare the cat on his bed and make them move, but he's done it so much that they just lay there so he looks at me to make them get up......if one isn't doing something one is, with this many there is no down time to rest......

Well that's my vent, I love them all dearly we all know that but dang it's hard to move that you aren't tripping over somebody!! I have some really funny pics of monkey I will post later......

Poor you, but you have such a big heart for all these animals, and poor Ben having to cope with all these cats stealing his bed.   He is such a good boy

Hope things work out well for you :)

Awww  What a nice looking Kitty.  What a sweetie Ben sounds.  He sounds so much like Roman.  Roman will look to me with his sweet teddy bear face when Atticus takes his bed too.  I have 2 beds side by side for them to sleep in during the day, but Roman has his favorite bed and sometimes Atticus is in it.  You are a "Saint" taking care of all those kitties!  :)

awwww shucks guys, I will share the love !!!!! who wants a kitty hahahahaha......I tell ya this is animal overload, you guys rotate dobermans and I rotate cats hahahahaa, I take the 20 year old that is in renal failure out of her personal condominium (or so she thinks) and while she's out Monkey Face is up and when she goes up (she puts herself up, she really is possessive of her stuff and won't leave it for long) then Monkey gets to come out, then if Shadowman is being a pisser then he gets put in Pepe Le Peu's crate for time out - every day I am rotating cats for run around time in the house.....then running dogs in/out for potty time and medicating everyone, feeding etc. I'm surprised I get the human laundry done hahahaah. But now to find out Monkey has NO interest in going back out just makes me feel so defeated in a loving sort of way.....

How about some updated pics of the babies:

Remember these ??  a couple of days after finding the kittens, top pic the mom is to the far right and Handel is looking right at mom while curiosity (adopted by Lindsay) is walking towards Super Callie the calico in the left corner. the one above shows mom with Handel looking up callie under mom and curi's back....how tiny they were!!!!!

well here is the happy family minus Curiosity

Mom is closest to the front, Handel is upper left he is bigger than mom now, and of course the calico is Super Callie look how big they are now!!!! how time flies.....

What a handsome boy Handel Walker is now

Here is the old gal Snagglepuss better known as Snags she is the 20 year old persian who is so territorial about her "stuff", Fidget is behind her....

This is the troublemaker Shadowman who found the middle of the window wreaths before I could get them packed up, you can just see the trouble in his eyes

This is a very frustrated crated stray cat!!! Monkey Face decided to show his distaste for paper shreds due to his toe by tossing it all over the place......dobers aren't the only ones who can show their people how aggravated they are with their situation hahahaha

Ben does not like having to give Monkey his crate

Monkey's foot issue after the second surgery still bleeding which was good

Here is good ol' Ben sharing his stuff with Handel; Ben got those toys free at Petsmart due to his costly PV food he loves those things hahahaa

And finally a very sleepy chihuahua Pepe Le Peu, he is 14 now and he hates to be disturbed while sleeping in his niche of a blanket

So there is an update of some of the family more to come later!!!!

You are a busy mommy!  Hope the Monkey man's foot heals.  It looks so painful.   Could the vet office help you find a home?  Good luck!

the vet tech actually wanted to adopt Handel but she couldn't afford to add another cat to her household and I won't let just anybody have them :))  even the one that did get adopted when the vet calls and says that Lindsay wants to bring Curi in but needs to wait for her next paycheck or that she can't pay in full I rush down and pay for the visit cause it's more important that Curi stay healthy than to keep money in my wallet.....so if we are going to help people take care of them we would just rather take care of them ourselves.....these are babies and need someone to really understand what it means to care for them for the rest of their lives and to know that we can do that but then let them go to a home that might not just doesn't seem right by the kittens.....and rehoming them now is not an option since we have had them in our lives for 7 months we are not in a position to give them up they are family forever now :))
