Hi Webby,

I'm wondering why I need to log in every time I open the Gentle Doberman site.

I used to stay logged in all the time.. now, when ever I bring it up, I;'m locked out until I do the user name and password. There's no place to click on to " keep me logged on" just wondering..

Thanks

Katie

Hi Kate,

Your browser must be purging its cookies. In other words, the website remembers you by storing a session number in a special file on your computer. Browsers can be set to delete these special files. Do you have "private browsing" or some similar setting enabled on your browser? Do you have another browser you can try, see if it's doing the same thing? I would suggest Firefox or Chrome.

Thanks Web-ster. I have no clue how or where to look for another browser... Last time I tried changing things, the power went out in most of Northern Baja and my blender is still non-functioning.

It might be best for all concerned to just keep re-logging on.. So far so good today.

My computer has Internet Explorer as the original browser, but I loaded Mozilla (Firefox) years ago...it's free...and have never had any trouble at all.  I prefer firefox to IE any day!

Agreed.  I love Firefox and have been using it for years.  Recently, however I have been giving Chrome a chance and I like them both equally.

Kate, just click the download button and just follow the prompts to install.  Then, when you want to go on the internet click on their icon instead of IE.

Opera is another great browser. I never us Internet Explorer either. I mostly us Firefox because it was the first to have a number of indispensable tools, so I'm friendly with it. It's actually the first thing I do with a new computer: Install FF. Chrome has a lot of those tools too now. I use Chrome for running video because Firefox doesn't (at least it didn't) run video well. Opera runs video well too.

Kate, installing is easy. What you download is an executable file (something.exe). You just run that and the program installs with a Wizard that asks you questions. Be sure to uncheck anything it offers to install in addition to the browser. You might want to let it, "Add an icon to your desktop." If you're still using Internet Explorer, that no good. ;-)  I'd give another browser a try. They're faster, especially Chrome.

What operating system are you using? You can find out by clicking the Start button, right-clicking "Computer" and then click Properties.

Same thing as Kate happening with my iPad.  I haven't changed any settings, I am afraid to do anything like that for fear I'll kill my device.  I never had to log in until a few weeks ago.  I can read posts, but have to log in to comment.  I was always logged in when I went to the Gentle Doberman Forum.

Oh my gosh... now that you mention it.. I'll bet you'd be the ONLY entry level java programmer and jr. php developer here.. You'd corner the market that's for sure.

Juan and Farah obviously  speak the language..the margaritas are free and you'd have your own coffee pot.. What else do you need??
