Sofia, Mike and I were watching the World Cup yesterday. Sofia snoozing, and M. and I were enjoying some cream cheese and Ritz.
Break in the action.. I to make a phone call.. M. to ... well.. to take a break.. La Diva curled up in cocktail shrimp position.
Upon returning five mins later... everything appeard to be the same..
except...
no cream cheese.. an entire half a block of Philadelphia Cream Cheese with Poblano Chili was GONE!

Now dear readers, I will give you some clues that might help me solve this mystery;
FACTS

1.) Sofia still curled up, except her eyes were shut really REALLY tight..
2.) The plate was still sitting were it was and had remnants of said cheese, but all the crackers were gone. Not a crumb to be seen
3.) There was a tiny residue of something sorta white on a whisker of said Diva
and I think I saw her venture a chop lick.. but barely.

DEFENSE

4.)Our girl would NEVER take anything not handed to her..
5.)Our girl would NEVER sneak a bit of food off the coffee table
6.)Our girl's Mother might be in total denial... but I digress.

Should I call Security and report a break in and possible cream cheese thief?
YOU BE THE JUDGE

Lol! I don't think it was her. Maybe you have a very large and hungry mouse?

I think the Dragons may have been IN the cream cheese and Sof was saving you and Mike from said Dragons by gobbling them up. She can't help it if they were holding onto the cheese really, really tightly.

She let her friend (his name escapes me) the painter in and he took them.  Divas NEVER snitch!  The remnant that you saw on her face was from a kiss from him.

LOL! I love the way she was back in her spot curled up as if nothing happened.

Lady Kate, try to maintain a calmness. It's important to continue to show trust in her. This is a milestone and must be approached with the same loving guidance you have always shown the girl. Use as an opportunity to build on trust issues. It's important not to over react. I'm sure the three of you will work thru this with no long term damage.

If dry humor isn't laughed at, I guess it's too dry!

LOL!  Well, when the temptation is too great...at least you know a Diva would NEVER be caught with her paw in the cookie jar! (Cream cheese jar?)  There is no class in that!  Just make the swipe and act innocent...they'll never suspect...

Kate, you just broke the number 1 forum rule!!!!  Where was the warning to PUT DOWN THE COFFEE????

I absolutely love this story, how funny that she went right back to the exact same spot she was in before the incident is priceless.  I guess she really wanted it and of course it wouldn't be acceptable for a Diva of her standing to beg. :)

Sounds like the evidence is circumstantial (sp?).  You didn't have the afore said white substance tested, right?  No way to know if it was cream cheese.

No one actually saw her do, so it might not have been her.  And besides, she was in the same position when you returned - which would lead me to believe that if anything, the robber gave Ms. Diva a little lick or two of the cream cheese to keep her quiet.  That would explain the white on whiskers, and the eyes tightly closed (I promise I didn't see anything Mom).

This was so funny!  thanks for sharing Katie!!

Oh my... I doubt it was that darling girl.  Surely her mice she's so quick to hunt came in and stole a huge hunk.  I can see them carrying it off their backs as Sofia watched in awe..

Love it!  They think we won't even notice that the whole snack is missing.  Ha ha ha.  So cute.

She was like, well everyone else is taking a break . . . !

I bet she was really thirsty too and she couldn't fit in a drink.

You'll have to include her in the next "TV break" you guys take.  Priceless!

Very funny, but I think you should just ask her if she ate the cream cheese.

I'm thinking it was the mice that stole the cheese, and when she chased the mice trying to stop your cream cheese from being stolen. When she attempted to catch the mice she ended up with a spot of cream cheese on her whiskers. She went to lay down again cause she was tried from chasing those cream cheese stealing mice.
