A little about our Gem Star & some background

My wife and I are serious Dobe lovers, and sober breeders. Our practices reflect ethical breeding and handling: Protect the breed. I have a justifiable aversion to PeTA, the HSUS, and their sordid “sort."

We actively support the DPCA, the ADOA, the AKC, and the ASPCA. We are also members of the Greater Miami Dog Club; we believe in and support Rescue. Further, we have a fine support group.

Normally, we crop. However, we have no problem with those who want natural ears, but we only offer Docked tails (I believe this is important).

My previous experience was with Black Retrievers  I switched to Dobes in 1979.  My wife comes from working with the fine European Rottweiler line.

Gem Star was our puppy of joy when we moved to the deep southwest.  She was bred by amateurs, who by just trying, had a fabulous litter.  I wanted to bring her line into acceptable show quality.

At the time she was old enough for her X-Rays and evaluation, I was sent on a a three year assignment.  Upon return, we began the process again.  However, we lost her when a drug and boozing pick-up truck driver barreled down our one-vehicle-wide, one-way street, post at 15 MPH, brutally hit Gem.  There is some consolation, as hitting her kept the four-year-old neighbor boy.

We miss Gem very much

Hello and welcome! Good job on the care you take of our breed. I think you can use Photobucket to post a pic. Are you familiar?
