First Day with my puppy

Well, I've had my little boy for almost 24 hours. He slept in my bed with me last night, and did pretty well. The only time he really cried was he fell in between my bed and his crate (the crate is right up next to my bed.) I wake up and here him crying and don't feel him next to me, so jump up to turn the light on and his little heads poking out, staring up at me. He has been pretty wary of everything in his new home, still cautious, but he's warming up quick. It seems like he already knows what "come here" means. I am amazed with how well he is doing with potty training. Not one single accident (knock on wood) and will go almost immediately when I put him outside. However, he still whines a little now and then, I think it's because he misses his littermates. I hope he's not too sad and will be happier soon. He's very smart and a sneaky little guy. But I still can't name him! I will be sure to keep you guys up to date!  :)

There is nothing like the curiosity of a very young pup. You will have to watch him closely because just like a human baby, everything goes in their mouth. It's as if the only sense they trust is taste.

he is black and rust or mahogany, whatever you want to call it. I'm not sure how to upload pics.

:) You need to join a site like http://www.photobucket.com and then you can load them onto here from there :) Black and tans are lovely colours. Still no name?

Here is a link to a post where I discussed the method of posting a photo from Photobucket.

ok i'll look into photobucket. and i think his name is gonna be Brinx. I thought of the home security system, he's gonna be the ultimate in home protection, plus it's sort of a cool, unique name.  ;) I came up with a lot of ideas, but everyone seemed to like that.

They are so cute at that age. Enjoy him while he is very small, for before long he will be much to big to hold in your lap. I also love the red's. Here is a month old posting (post 2) I made that included a picture of my two, a six year old 110 pound male (Red) and a then 9 month old female who now weighs 70 pounds (Princess). She keeps bugging Red to play with her and wears him out with her play.

Yes, they do get along together. Which ever one I let out of their crate first, they immediately go to the other one to wait on me letting their buddy out. (Red's crate is in the front bedroom used as a computer room/office and Princess's crate is in the corner of the dining room). If I put her outside first, she stands on the deck waiting on Red. There are times though in the evening when she is antagonizing him to play, he will look at me as if to say, "Please take her back where you found her so I can get some sleep."

However, the next morning he is ready to tussel with her again.
