Dobie has these bumps, about 5+ at any given time, on his chest, neck  & some on his hind legs. They are small, maybe less than half as big as a pencil eraser, at the most. they are solid, not like typical Doberman acne, & they don't pop. They seem to have white, flaky skin on them, which comes off when lightly scraped  w/ a fingernail or brush. They are reddish under that, & he has scratched a few of them, though not on purpose ( they do not seem to bother him at all) causing a few of them to bleed a tiny bit. They do not itch, I am guessing, as he ignores them totally. But The ones on his hind legs are making bald spots. He already has enough bald patches from roughhousing all the time w/Paris!  I wonder if maybe the marks from their playing are related to or even causing the new bumps. I put antibiotic ointment on him when I can keep an eye on him, as he will lick himself clean as if I put it on him just for that reason! I spray electrolyzed oxidizing H20 all over him daily, as well. This has become more noticeable in the last 2 weeks. Probably since the scrapes & scratches from playing are next to the bumps, causing 2X the bald spots & random bumps & scabs! Is there a way I can at least keep him from having the bald areas forever? For all the odd bumps I have dealt w/on Paris over the years, this is a new one, & I have no clue how to fix/prevent my Dobies (seemingly) cosmetic issues.

If they continue and don't go away, I would let the vet examine them. Princess has a bump on her neck about the size of a nickel that was somewhat like that. I was concerned as that is how the malignant tumor on Red's tail began. (Removed in Sept. '08 and has not recurred) When Dr. Janney saw it he was not concerned and injected a steroid under it to break it up. Her hair is now coming back although still thin in that circle. That will be two months on Aug. 1.

But, then if I see anything I have not seen before and am comfortable with, I take them to the vet.

Yeah, my friends & family think I am too quick to get worried, assume the worst & head to the vet. Better safe than sorry, I say. They act like it is silly that I have a full 1st aid kit in my car & a smaller, basic stuff one for when we are going to be, obviously, away from the car! I think that we will see if there is a change over the weekend of any sort, but I will make our appointment now, true to the better safe than sorry way of life!  Maybe we will check around for Rogaine for Canines! Paris had a bump a while back that I panicked a little about, it was bigger, about the size of a pencil eraser+ a bit. We had an aspiration done, & no mast cells at all, thank goodness. The vet said we could remove it anytime, just for cosmetic reasons. But it went away not long after that, by itself. So I will just worry about Dobies looks, for now!
