I was sitting at the computer when all of a sudden I heard ~squeak~squeak~ and I looked at the couch where Ziva was lying, chomping down on a brand new rubber dog toy--it even still had the cardboard tag attached to it.  Huh?  We didnt buy her a new toy lately.  I took it way from her, and asked my wife "did you buy this for Ziva?" and she said "no---that's a toy that I bought for a foster Rat terrier as a secret Santa gift"......seems like Z went into the dining room, rummaged around in the shopping bags that were up on a chair and found a toy that she wanted to keep for herself.  Sometimes these dobermans are just TOO smart!

Too late to tell her Santa is watching, she's already figured out where mom and dad hide the presents Santa is bringing :-).  If she starts unwrapping an end of a present to get a peek at what it is you're in trouble.  If she learns to wrap the end back up you're in even more trouble.  I wouldn't put it past a Dobie.

Can you ever get mad at them? Cisco found his Christmas presents yesterday as well. And when I said "what did you do" in my mean mommy voice.. he came galloping over and put his new rope in my lap w/ the nub wagging 1000x a min and got in play position with that nub up in the air head on the floor like come on mom lets play tug of war! He won and didnt get into trouble!

My little Diva-in-training went on her first shopping trip to Petsmart today.  And she LOVED it!! (Sophia would be proud.)  It took her a few minutes to get used to the shopping carts, but after that she was greeting anyone that came near us so sweetly and happily.  We got some nice compliments too.  But, the fun part was,  I let her walk up and down the aisles and she showed me exactly what she was asking Santa for!  It was fun to watch her, like a kid in a candy shop.  Now, she'd better be a good girl cause I know how to get in touch with Santa!

Now you know why Dobie puppies are so cute. You can't stay mad at them for more than 30 seconds when you look at you like that.

Oh I have learned that quickly- I think we all have! Its so fun to be a dobe owner. They can test you but at the same time you know that you can never stay mad for too long!

doh!  well he of course, had to test out the new toy to make sure it was aceptable to give to the little terrier.  I mean you wouldn't just give anything to her without dobie approval would you?
