I will take some better pictures this weekend. When I go back to visit him. I will have exactly 4 weeks on Sunday before he comes home. He will be 7 1/2 weeks old.

Aw, so cute!!  We couldn't wait to bring Steve home!  It is better than Christmas when you do get to take them home.  I love how breeders let us visit the puppies.. we got to see Steve twice before we finally brought him home.  The family came with us.. first my boyfriend's brother and wife, then his mom, came with us.  :)  Its a fun process.. just get started on puppy-proofing and buying toys and things.. thats a fun thing to do while you wait.

Hi, Glad there is not only me that could not find "where to post"  think I did it wrong yesterday. I am very new to these forum, thingybybobs.

We also have a lovely male 9wk old puppy, who is lovely then yes, you got it a `little monster'.

He bites, and thinks whatever we then do is a game and does it more.  We have tried everything we can think of from ignoring, saying NO and giving him something else, but when he is in that little monster mood he still comes back for more.

Any guidance, advice would be good.

Thanks, maybe if I have still not got the posting right, you could help on this as well.

xx

Rgreen has a wonderful way of teaching the 'no bite' to his pups.. just a slight tap with two fingers  on the nose with a firm "NO!" It's the way MommaDobe teaches her puppies that those itty bitty needles in their mouths HURT! Tell us more about your new monster

Sometimes posts get "lost" or covered up by a post-post. But in a way it's good, as you have to go looking for yours and in the meantime maybe uncover a treasure of a suggestion. The best way to follow along with what you write is to hit the "Watching This Post" with the eyes at the end of the original thread.. that way you'll get a message on your PM that someone is adding (or swallowing )at least you can track it.. I like to read everything

Eileen,

Steve was VERY bitey when we first brought him home and he'd throw temper tantrums when we'd put him on his back - he had no litter mates and wasn't used to being reprimanded with "ouches!" when his teeth hurt us.

I like the two-finger touch and the "NO!" but also what worked for us was when his mouth got my hand in it I'd grab on and not let go.  His teeth hurt but they aren't going to do damage - yet.  So I'd just hold on til he got upset and freaked out and let me go.  Pretty quickly he learned my hand was not fun for snacking on.  Replacing quickly with a toy is a great method too.  I think if you try all three you'll find shortly he'll knock it off.

Just remember that right now everything goes in their mouths to explore/play with, not just your hand!

TitansProudFather, what a fat, juicy, honey bear!!!  He is a doll!  All of us know here, and you will see soon; he will be the best dog you ever had.  Love his name.  Congratulations!

Titan's Proud Dad & Everyone else who's coming into the New Pup World,

He's a cutie!

You can almost see him wobbling in the photo!

Love that pre  bite-the-heck-out-of-you

stage every time you try to pet, kiss, touch me!

It's kind of like having a teenager around.  Just hold on to these precious memories and before you know it, he'll welcome the hugs again!

And in the meantime, all the puppy punctures will heal right up!
