Hi,

Of course we all think our dobies are extra special

But what do they have that nobody else has?

I will start...

Bella has exactly seven white hairs on top of her noggin

She has a permanent 2" green line drawn on her tummy. I think the vet tech did it, but then the vet chose another area to spay her.

She also has lots of custom clothing and a long webbing tie outdoors leash, that she could chew through in 5 seconds, but never does.

What makes your dear dog unique???

The way he chooses to hold his ears all goofy like.  He can stand them nicely and does when he thinks Momma isn't watching, but prefers them like this.  Also, the little white spot on his chest and the heart of gold behind it.

They tell me that green tattoo let's everyone know spaying took place.  I don't see that on my girl.  Wish she had it.

dogman I was thinking the same thing tattoo for spay great idea.....

what makes Sampson so unique - he has a huge chest very broad and his front legs don't look like they can hold him up with such a huge chest.....he snores like a HOG not a pig - a hog.....it wakes me up at night..... he snuffles and huffs instead of barking....he has very droopy sad eyes and his feet splay out to the point they look like he has duck feet....looks pretty painful actually.....and his left back hip points outward at a weird angle and finally he has a huge dip in his belly where they removed that 6 pound tumor....oh and he has 3 white hairs just to the corner of his left eye

What makes him unique to me personally is that he adores ME not my husband like Benjaman did - nope this rottweiler is MINE hahahaha I always wanted Benieman to love me as much as he did my husband since I was the one that chose him too but Ben chose my husband to depend on, Sampson loves my husband but doesn't want to go with him without making sure I am right behind them....that makes him extremely special to me.....especially since I rescued him from CA with me in NC via Facebook of all things thanks to a 15 second video I knew he was the dog I wanted and he is perfect......fit right in with no issues from day one. I took a chance and the Fates smiled on me he's wonderful....

Hm. Turns our Kay's not that unique. It took a lot of scrabbling around to think up these things...

She's my best buddy. ;-) I've never met another dog called Kayenne. She's got a small ridge (cow lick) up her muzzle. I've seen it on other dogs but usually it's bigger or off-center. Kay's is right between her eyes. She doesn't bark on command! Seems every dog does that now, but not Kay. Uh. She's got exactly seven white hairs on the underside of her chest. ;-)

Dobie, that's cool! Pandora has the same thing. From the tip of her nose to the top of her eyes.

Sofia has taken on the role of teaching her little sister Bella the ways of a Diva.. She gives daily lessons and although she never growls.. when the pup does something NOT in the rule book.. we see an Elvis sneer.. yep.. she can curl her lip just like the King himself.. Remarkable how that works in the way of a correction for the Wild Child.

Bella on the other hand has so many 'quirks' that she's inspired this author to start a sequel to Life WIth a DoberDiva We're calling the new book Ciao Bella.

You can see Bella practicing the sneer in this photo

Hey MommaL. Storm has a white triangle (point down) on her chest with a black spot in the middle of the triangle. Its quite small but you can see it. I call it her tuxedo. Maybe theyre related? My vet says its not uncommon, but I havent seen many with it. My last Dobe didnt have it.

I'll try and get a good pic asap.

Cheers.

Ziva's nickname is "moo-moo" because of all the moans and groans she produces.  I've never had such a vocal Doberman.

Gibbs doesn't like me to get out of bed in the morning if we're snuggling and will either hold my nightgown in his teeth as I'm getting out (occasionally biting me in the butt by mistake) or take my arm and try to keep me from leaving the room.  I'm the only one he does it to and only in the morning when I get up.

Juneau waits for my alarm to go off in the morning then lays his neck over my neck and does that annoying little nibble at my ear. The vet calls him her "thinking dog" because he watches you do everything and you can't make him do anything, not even with food. He watched all of his reflex tests just with curiosity and almost startled himself a couple of times. Never tried to jerk his foot away, just watched. The vet couldn't stop laughing. Unfortunately he observes *everything,* including where I put things that I do not want him to have. He is an expert at pretending he doesn't care about what you're hiding until you walk away.

Otto makes a wide array of whines, barks, growls, etc... when excited or playing. Sometimes I don't want to answer the dog park question, "whose little black dog is that?" I think it's the universe laughing at me because when I was looking at purebreds years ago I though it would be fun to have a breed that "talked." So much for that. His nails also don't grow because the vet cut them way too short during his neuter (at 6 months old, and not a vet we use anymore). At his last vet visit they did need to trim one dew claw. He is 8 now.

Great pictures everyone! So many good looking pups ^_^

DJ has a couple of special qualities about her that i just am totally in awe of.  For one, she has trained herself (no joke, I didnt actually train her to do this, she just started doing it on her own) to go around and pick up all 6 dog food bowls after feedings, one at a time, and brings them to me.  I think her ulterior motive was for me to re-fill them so she could keep eating, but whatever....I always appreciate the fact that she brings me the bowls.  Another thing she does is she goes out and rounds up Tigger, our little 7 lb senior pom that came from a shelter 2 years ago.  Tigg likes to go outside, and he wanders off to the far end of the yard, and I really think he sometimes forgets how to get back to the door...especially at night when it's dark out.  If he doesnt come back after 5 or 10 minutes at the most, I send DJ out telling her 'go get Tigger, bring him back'.  She runs out to find him then circles around him over and over until he gets so mad at her, he starts to chase her....then she runs back to the house, with Tigger right behind and he looks at the door almost with a surprised look on his face as if to say, "Wow...THERE you are!"

hahahaha DJ that's what we do with Sampson, he worries about the little guy so when he gets lost in the yard or won't go out in the yard I just tell Sammie to go out and he follows him out or if he's lost I tell Sammie to go get Pepe

DJ sounds so wonderful I just love to hear all the things she learns and teaches herself and her joy for life and her sense of humor just make me smile all the time

Zooey has this really funny habit she developed on walks that I call the stop, drop, and roll - if we are walking on a plush, nice patch of grass, she will just randomly stop, drop down, and roll back and forth several times. Now that winter has come she gets lots of dead grass all over her. Luckily, it doesn't seem related to rolling in something extra stinky or being particularly itchy, she just loves the grass. And when she is excited in the house, she will pick up her extra special "Squeaky" kong barbell and prance around with it.

Speaking of tattoos, Argo has a little heart tattooed on the inside of one of his thighs. We have no idea where it came from and I posted in the forum about it when we first got him and no one had heard of such a thing. Argo is also quite the moaner and if I pat him when he is sleeping and start making the moaning noise he will moan along with me in the same tone and length of time to match my sounds.
