Just thought I'd share a little cute moment.. or at least it was to me.. this morning.  Steve is always very crazy in the mornings, all that pent up energy from sleeping.  I'm in the office drinking coffee when I hear him barking.  Annoyed, I stalk out to the living room where he's run off to just to find him sitting patiently looking up at the bones I stashed on a side table.  It was a very good sit.  He thinks that if he sits for ANYthing.. he'll get it.

With his cone on and his attention focused on the bone.. I don't know, it was classic.  Should've snapped a picture before I gave him his reward, haha.

Needless to say.. he is a happy and healthy guy.

So many precious moments that I wish we could all capture on the camera.. Mostly it's the expression in their eyes. It's there and gone in an instant but the eyes tell the whole story. Sometimes they're like liquid amber, other times they dance and sparkle. Think about how they look when they're telling you how much they love you and are so glad to be part of the family. Then remember the look of anticipation for a walk or a chore or even stacking wood for Dad! Sofia gets this intense stare when she's stalking the Hated Hare. Other times it's a solemn slow blink, almost like a cat when she's listening to me tell her something. My favorite is when we have our Mother/Daughter chats and I tell her how happy she is here and vice versa. She can just melt my heart..

We are pretty bad with the camera.. people must think we're nuts because all our pictures on facebook are of the dog.. videos too.. haha.  I don't know what we'll be like when we have a non-furry child.

There is something about them Lady K that just gets to you, isn't there?  Steve's personality is still asserting itself, but he is quickly becoming my pal.  He doesn't like playing with daddy for very long without coming and checking on me while I'm studying.  Just to "make sure" I'm safe I guess.

We love the little guy so much!

I think they all melt our hearts...kratos knows when ha has done something wrong because as soon as he hears me stalking after him he puts on such a gorgeous puppy face but what really makes me melt is how he looks at me with those wolf-struck eyes as if to say,"I'm sorry mama..."

That is so true. One does not have to yell or worse when one of our DobieKids misbehaves, just the tone of voice to let them know you have disappointed you. They do not know right from wrong, but they know when something pleases you and when something displeases you. There desire to please works in our favor.

Last night I found another sock with the end chewed up, and I picked it up and said one word. "Princess" in a low tone holding the sock up. Her reaction was classic, head down looking at her feet. Hopefully, it will be a few days before she pulls paper and plastic out of the trash can or a sock out of the hamper in my room.

Of course you can't stay mad at them, so there is no point in getting angry at all. After all, if I hadn't left the bedroom door open she couldn't have gotten the sock.

Its funny how mischievous they can be.. Eli told me that the other afternoon Steve took a mouthful of toilet paper and ran around the house with it.  I find these things endearing and laugh it off... Eli gets a little annoyed.

He's not into socks so much as shoes.. and he's still not figured out if we're angry or not yet.  Any attention is attention almost I think.

Thank you so much for the post -- it makes me think of the way Ozzy communicates which again makes me more certain of his iffy lineage!  Ozzy knows where the treats are and will go sit, stare and cock his head and you know he is thinking....if a+b=c then i should be able to manipulate the treats to the edge of the microstand by...naaa  Ill just sit here and look adorable...she's such a sucker for that...hehehe...

Oh god, don't even get me started on the sock monster that lives inside the hamper, I know our pups are just trying to save us from those sock monsters, and once they get back the socks from these evil sock monster they are already torn up. Our pups didn't do it, honest they didn't.

Thanks gingersmommy!  I can't take credit for it (my boyfriend chose the name) but it fits him so well!
