Well I see a couple of birthdays - guess what officially Sampson had his first birthday with us last Sunday!!!!

Can you believe he has been with us a year??!!!!  I thought or sure he was at death's door when I adopted him, boy did he perk up with a happy home and lots of love!!!

Sampson is now 10 years old

Kinda worried as Ben died at 9 3/4 years so I worry almost everyday about Sampson

Lots of woofs and love and congratulations from us:)

Tal do not expect new miracles, worrying whenever the ending is to be, accept the miracle that is Samson, enjoy and love him every day.

Sampson got upset with me today about porch time; I have taught the dogs to LOVE the porch, but Momma Kitty had to go to the vet so I put Sammie out to potty and instead he laid on his bed, I let Pepe in and put him up in his crate, told Sammie to go potty, and he stared at me like I was crazy; so I stepped outside and told him to go out in the yard, so he got up and walked over to me, I was standing on the porch with only two steps to get to the yard, and pointed to the yard and told Sammie go potty, he looked at me, walked around my right side, down one step and around in front of me and back to his bed and laid down, just looped me - silly boy, so I walked out in the yard and called him to me so he did a tiny obligatory pee and back to his porch bed, I went inside and called him in, he drug his feet and took his time, once in the house he stomped (he knows how to do that) and went to his crate, took his nose and slammed the door to his crate open and went in as if to say "I wanna sit on the porch" he was really upset about no porch time. That's the first time I have seen him "throw" his crate door open in disgust and stomp in - he is such a great dog......but that's his first temper tantrum. He did get porch time this afternoon late.

I think he feels at home now hahahahah

I will have to share some of his recent pics he's hanging in here at 10 I have noticed a few of his tumors are getting much larger and sometimes his breathing is labored so I do worry, but I am so thankful for every minute I have with him....and so so thankful for the "puller" and Rottie Nation and some other rescue people for helping me get him from that kill shelter in CA to NC safely.....what a ride this boy has had......

A new issue, he has now declared everything including people fair game to snuffle and snort at outside the fence and of course the stupid people walking their dogs insist that their dog come say HI to the bristling snorting snuffling huffing rottweiler - SERIOUSLY???? stick your dog nose through that picket fence and watch that rottie snip it.....I wouldn't mess with Sammie in that mood if I was outside the fence. And Sam listens to NO ONE at those times....body blocking doesn't work, guiding him back doesn't work cause when 137 lbs. says "I'm not moving" you don't move.....

We are considering replacing the fence with double picket aluminum 5' fencing to stop this stupidity but dang it's costly. But we sure don't want sammie in trouble for snipping a little dog's snout......you guys would be having to get bail money ready if something were to happened to my boy......

maybe try some small chicken wire attached to the picket fence not as pretty but much cheaper .just a thought .

another thought i am making a picket fence out of pallets you could take the boards off the pallet and place in between your pickets on the fence . you can find the pallets for free a lot of times . good luck

Thanks for the tips - we are considering the wire attached to the picket fence if we stay here and don't sell our home then we will most likely just replace the whole darn thing with 5 foot tall double pickets but if we stay for another 8 months or so it will just be the wire - it needs to happen quickly as there are tons of people this year walking dogs by the yard and some of those are other bully breeds and he really has issues with other large dogs now - not sure why......maybe cause he's old and grumpy but dang

chicken wire sounds like the fastest fix .

yes much easier the old guy is still bounding off the porch but he is much slower now and at least doesn't jump up on the fence I think he did that enough to where he has caused his back legs to really hurt so that has stopped thank god.....he weighs enough to push the fence over with enough of that

today the pit bull girl that walks by with another pit bull - they walked by with their person and sampson was inside but the little girl pit was looking for the big old guy to come huffing and snorting at her she really wanted to see him, her person and I thought that was pretty funny. Sampson really has a thing about pit bulls - hates them......not sure what his past his with them but it must not have been good
