My children have been begging for a dog for the last ten years. They are 'almost' 11, 5, and 3 years old. After 2 years of breed research we decided on a Doberman. My older child named our puppy Athena as his favorite author is Rick Reardon. I chose a breeder that was helpful from the beginning. I didn't feel judged. We had two major disappointments with other breeders. I was thrilled that the breeder has five children of his own. Athena came home with us and it was like she was always apart of our family. She never cried or fussed for her mom and she loved on the kids right away. She isn't liking her crate though. She prefers to be close to me. She fusses if I don't let her take her nap in the chair with me. She's very cuddly. Now that she's 12 weeks we are working on biting. Any advice would be great. She bites too hard and puts her front paws up on the kids. She is trying to play but my two younger ones don't know how to make her stop. She starts puppy training next month. Eventually she will be trained as a service dog for my ten year old. He has hearing loss, tourettes syndrome, and severe adhd. I've added some pictures!
Thanks!

Best way to stop biting is to give a firm "no" and redirect to a toy and say "yes" all happy repeat this till she gets it. Lol we do call them dobersharks for a reason haha

Thanks for the advice! We have been trying that. Sometimes that works but other times she has no interest in the toy or bone. I have to remove her from play when that happens. I know she will get it eventually. :)

Things I did that help were frozen Kong goodies, frozen wash cloths, ice cubes, with the wash cloth only let her have it when you are supervising her. I also made popscilces.

Hahaha they are very simple I got a Popsicle maker from target and filled it with water, turkey, peanut butter, shedder carrots, and for the stick I used a carrot stick :)
