So today we were on our way back from obedience class and I was driving Athena was in the back and so was my husband (to make sure she stayed calm and didn't hurt her belly)  The window was open enough that she could stick just her head out and the next thing a know I hear Athen making a terrible cry and digging at the window and my husband freaking out as well. I look back and Athena has her head stuck in the window.  Somehow the window got put up while her head was out!  The worst part is she freaked out so bad she pooped herself all over my hubby.  We checked her out right away and I think she is just fine..eating, drinking and breathing normal with no signs of pain. I think it just went up enough to scare her and she couldn't get her head back in...I don't think it actually like put any pressure on her.  Here we are supposed to be keeping her calm and we roll her up in the window causing her to freak out and poo herself.  I know it was just a mishap but I still feel HORRIBLE how could I let that happen we are usually so careful.

On a plus her are some pics of her 'graduation'

Well doesn't she look proud. and just think.. she graduated "Magnum Cum Louder!!!"

Poor Athena getting herself stuck.. I'll bet it's a while before she hangs her head out the window.. whether it's open an inch or twelve..

Cesar Milan talks about open windows and says: "It's like Disneyland for Dogs". The scents, smells and sights  are irresistable.. but flying objects, including the stinging kind can hurt..

And speaking of smells.... well.. we're not gunna go there.. Just tell your hubby Clorox does wonders!!

You'll be alright and so will she, these things happen...

We all make mistakes as parents just make sure she's fine and not afraid of the car because of this incident.

Anyway, she looks darling in her graduation cap!

Control_Freak, I love her graduation pictures!  She is a good girl to wear her cap and tassle! What a doll!

When we brought Ginger home from the pound, I immediately let her out onto the porch which leads to the back yard.  Without thinking, I shut the sliding glass door behind me.  When I let her in from the porch, she made a bee line for inside and ran right into the door.  She gave a little yelp and and I felt so terrible!!!  Thankfully, she was okay and after that I always left the door partly open so that she would know that she couldn't go all the way through.

Thanks everyone!  I know its not the best thing to let her stick her head out the window but she just loves it sooo much!  Normally she is harnessed and leashed so she doesn't have much leeway.  I know we all make mistakes but it always makes me feel so irresponsible!  Anywho she must be doing will since she found it necessary to do this to my wall.....

What a little brat!

Sofia has made her own Doggie Door. right smack through the slider... We have replaced it three times..

she must have some interior design back ground, as she seems to like it flapping in the breeze..

That looks like a plaster wall to me!  Ahhh, I don't miss those puppy days.  Ginger chewed one of the kitchen cabinets and the leg of an antique coffee table I have. Luckily, that was about the extent of her chewing.  LadyKate, I think you are stuck now that she knows she can go through the screen.  Could you leave the bottom corner unattached so she can come and go without the bugs getting in the house?

Yup.. That's exactly what she does..

in an out in and out.. all day long and looks like she's just discovered a new trick.. just so proud of herself.

no more asking to go out.. she felt that was 'beneath' her.. we should KNOW when her ladyship needs to  use the facilities.

Hee, hee; she's just keeping a good eye on her kingdom!  This is one of those situations, "if you can't beat 'em..."

Mike just now told her "Time for a walk" she bounded off the sofa... nosed her collar at him and goosed me on the way out! (Such devotion!!)  Have you noticed how their snouts are like dolphins? And they do the dolphen bop before you're ready for it!

One of our dogs rolled her head up in the window one time. Do you have a window lock on the driver side window that you can lock the window that way she cannot step on it and roll it up and down? That is what we do now! Her graduation picture is adorable! She does look so proud!

I have always called it the Doberman nose bump and they all do it. I think mama teaches it to them at birth.
