i have wanted a doberman since i first the movie 101 dalmatians but instead my mom got us a dalmatian but now that i am all grown up i finally had the chance to purchase my 1st Doberman Pinscher i purchased her at 9wks but was out of state and now she is 13 wks n she has grown so much n that little bit of time. Her name is Calypso and she is AWESOME.

P.s. is it normal or does anyone elses doberman have or has had like a connection issue as in like very clingy. or is that just their nature

Congratulations on your new Dobergirl! They are amazing dogs. and YES, dobermans tend to want to be by your side all the time! That is why they are called "velcro" dogs. It's a trait most of us love and laugh at. :D

Pet Profiles

Congratulations on your first Doberman and welcome to the Forum KMajor.

When we rescued Sofia over almost three years ago, I knew absolutely NOTHING about the breed. If it weren't for this Forum, I'd still be in the dark and wondering why this beautiful golden girl does some of the things she does.

Ask as many questions as you can think of and as often as you think of them. There are people on this Forum who have had Dobermans forEVER and know so much about them.. They are also willing to teach you and share their knowledge and experience..

But FIRST>>>>>more pictures of little Calypso.. What a great name.. she is adorable

ok thanks because i have had her for all of one day and out of my 24 hours i have had 23 hrs and 50 mins alone n thats only cuz i was i showered and used the bathroom lol but i love it i think shes going to be one of the most loyal dogs ever. but i can say she is really strong willed n bullheade when it comes to the words (stop and No) but with time she will get it i hope.

also i will be uploading pics of her in about 15mins or less  the profile pic is of her at 9 weeks  when we first met

With regards to her strong bullheadedness, remember, she is still a *baby* and brand new. Take things easy on her, make sure to not be heavy-handed and let her grow into who she is, with guidence. If you haven't looked into training methods and such, positive training works best with most dobermans!

Can't wait to see your pictures!

yea no heavy handedness here or any type of handedness just crate n chain time she absolutely hates being confined but seems to get that she has done something wrong. the only problem she has is biting on ppl i.e. (ME) and object but im sure when she has grown up a lil more that will stop as with most puppies

I HAVE JUST ADDED THE PICS TO MY PROFILE

She is beautiful!  Welcome to both of you!  You will see in a very short time how many different puppy stages she will go through...it seems every wk is something new.  I believe her and London are about 1 1/2 -2 wks apart.  With patience and repetition and of course treats; you will be SO proud of her and how quickly she will pick up on things...not to mention how quickly she will grab a sock(shirt, pants, etc.) and run! LOL  I haven't had this much joy and aggravation rolled up into one package in many yrs!
