Meet the rest of our fur family!

This handsome man is my first son and my oldest living fur baby.. Satchmo[Louie Armstrong] is now beyond 7 years but this is my favorite pic of him as a catboy. He is a big baby and loves laps no matter how fat he is he is gonna squeeze on in on someones lap.  He doesnt do very much but has perfected the art of finding the best place for a cat nap and i often have to lift his fat body off of my purse, computer bag, and even steals my spot on the couch after i get up to get something. Because of his lapcat tendancies i have taught him sign language commands to keep him from jumping up on my or guests, because he is 25 lbs he tends to hurt everyone.. sort of like "stay" showing him the palm of your hand.

There he is now and with our newest addition Tori[Amos]. She was rescued among a group of strays behind my grandmothers house. She is quite peculiar looking and has a half tail.. couldnt bring it upon ourselves to take this one to the shelter. Timid at first, Tori has grown into a sweet and vocal little cat that the boykittys love having around.

Here is Zoso[Led Zeppelin], we rescued him from the cat ladys house down the road, he is my hubby and my first cat together. He is gorgeous and seriously the best cat i have ever known in my 27 years of being around cats.[hundreds of them] He too loves some LAPage and will perch himself right on your knee. He has to be in the same room as you, and if there is a new door open then here comes Zoso the velcro cat. Expect him to barge in bellowing meowage if you leave a crack in the door.

Now that you have met my entire clan of furkids, feel free to post some of your kitties on this thread so i can meet em! >^..^<

right MEOW!

fidget at 13 years old this year saved from the shelter the day her time was up, I saw the timeline on her paperwork, so glad I was there that day

Shadowman a 1/3 of a tail cat, traveled 3 hours in the engine compartment of a car being traded in where my husband works when they opened the hood to inspect the engine there he was!!! lucky to have survived interstate travel for 3 hours. Cuddlbug he came from anderson,SC can you imagine???

Malta a cat left behind by a neighbor who moved

Miss Velvet who's mom died and my husband brought her home at the age of 2 weeks!!! She is now 8 years old.

Snagglepuss who was going to be sent to the shelter because the couple who had her had a baby and she wasn't introduced properly and was upset she is now 19 years old.

and we have 4 strays outside that hang around and love the rottie but hate the chihuahua hahahaha can't believe how much our cats resemble each other......

LOVE your tortie/calico (it was my understanding any tortie with white was a calico) the markings on the face are cute as can be......

i had no idea that she was considered calico! i just figure tortie because of the way it looks on her. cool! she is so adorable, she flickers that little tail so much! i do belive it is also a 1/3 tail as a 1/2 tail would be an inch or so longer.. just never really thought about calling it a third tail since i used to have one as a kid and we named her halftail. haha!

your babies are awesomely cute! i love kitties so much i wish i can have them all but i think this is gonna be the last of them as we now have two doggies and we havent even had human children yet!

All of my cats are indoor only and the only one who ever really got freedom was Zoso who totally ran off for a whole day to fight with the neighborhood strays, who endlessly taunt the cats by sitting outside my windows spraying their scents. He was found by my neighbor in her laundry room who looked for him after she saw me tirelessly and frantically searching for him. I am very careful now as I cannot afford the heartbreak of a loss to my family by carelessness.

i lost many a kitten by getting stuck in the engine of a car, i had a few survive but were in bad shape so my dad put them out of their misery. [tough to think about] we used to have a bunch of cats who just kept respawning and my dad would drop them off[ if they didnt die in the engine first.] we lived out in the woods so there were a lot.  we eventually had a pet cemetary where we had to bury them thats how many we lost that way.

when i was about 16 i had a job at chilis[in to-go] and this person drove up with a kitten in their engine. i rescued it and literally lost my job because i refused to go the rest of my shift knowing there was a kitten with a broken leg just sitting outside[ the person who drove up with the kitten inside just left it there] i ended up bringing it to home to keep it comfortable and splint its leg until i could wait for the humane society to open.

Sadie's a barn cat (minus the barn.. and the work). She doesn't like any other animals, at all. And I swear she hates me (she gives me this gtfo look all the time). She's around 8 years old-ish; I brought her home after a family friend's cat had babies (she was adorable!). She's never met Kirby, and probably never will. She likes to 'play' with birds.

Lovely kitties!

We had two early on in our marriage:

Muffin - all black

Patti - white with black splodges

Then, after they'd gone to Rainbow Bridge and our son was about 5, we got some more:

Basil - black & white tuxedo

Molly - all black

Oscar - red tabby & white

Jasmine - tortoiseshell & white

Sadly, they're all gone now - Basil (first to arrive, last to leave) passed away last year aged 19.

I have four kitties too! I have always had rescue cats and volunteer with a few local organizations around Phoenix. My latest addition, Kai, was found in a trash can at 1 day old and fostered until 3 weeks old. We then took him in and he is now 1-1/2 year old wild cat. We should of named him anubis...thanks for sharing all your images of your kitties.

AWww poor kitties! I wish they could live forever. I couldn't imagine having to lose my satchmo and never have him here again. :( I most undoubtedly will own another cat because I will miss my boy.

I love all the pics, and descriptions and if even by coat all our cats seem pretty similar. :)

I wish I had all my pics of the cats bc I'm sure you know I have over 3000 haha there are some awesome moments captured in these babies lives. Unfortunately, a dead computer will keep you from seeing these ... At least for now! Expect some in the future.

Love all the fur kid pictures. I'm not a cat person, not by choice allergies but love to look at them.

All I can account for is my doberboy and a few hermit crabs, shelly, speedy & hermit. If I could figure out how to cut & past pics to this post I would. My kids like the crabs, because they are silly trying on new shells everyday.

Neesa the elder kitty, she is 16 years old, only tolerates the other cat Tedi doesnt bother with Loki unless he gets close, she sleeps mostly. She used to be a hellraiser and escape artist!

Ahh...Tedi aka Ninja kitty, she is 13 years old hates the dog, attacks him every chance she gets. Also, does not like any women too close to my younger son. Everyone looks at her and think she is the sweet cat and the black one is not because she is a black kitty. They could not be more wrong!

This is Loki and my younger son DeAylo who still lives with me. All my furbabies love them dearly and the son too.

Nice goats!  My family has always wanted goats but alas we live in a subdivision so no goats right now.

We do have 3 cats, a parakeet, fish and of course the one that we kiddingly call  "the ferocious doberman".  Actually last night she did not like a jogger and my husband said he had to really hold on to her because she lunged toward them growling, barking and all...

Mindy still wants to chase the cats,so I will take any suggestions on how to get her to do better with the feline members of the family.

Here is proof that when Mindy was a young pup she tolerated cats.  We could never get this picture now!

You all have such adorable pets! I love cats but sadly the spouse is not a big fan of felines!

We do have fish! We have a betta (she is my daughter's) and she has been with us almost 2 years...well, HE, it's a HE but my daughter refuses to have a red "boy fish" so the name is Leona.

Then we have another tank with a shark (tiny one, not like Jaws hehe) his name is Obie, then we have a blue lobster names Jackson (again, small not like the ones on display at Red Lobster), and the bottom feeder Captain Under Pants (you can thank my 5 year old son for naming him *sigh*). Now..we had two tiger striped fishies, Hatfield and McCoy, but Hatfield was our first fish casualty in the tank. Jackson decided to have him for a meal so now McCoy is all alone.

AND...we have an honorary pet who has been apearing in our front and back yards for the past month everytime it rains and who is driving Karma MAD!!! A brown frog my daughter named McNugget.

I am planning to add a bird...not sure of what kind yet. I soo love to read and see other people's pets. Animals are such a gift!!

my3doveloves, if you're looking into getting a bird, imho, the best are lovebirds, or green cheek conures (Kirby is a yellow sided green cheek). Both are super loving and smart. Kirby's already learning how to talk at 10 weeks old.

Tayoh,

Do they get pretty big or small? I would prefer small birdies as I already have the cage. I also have a hamster cage with all the bells and whistles that an aunt gave me, so now my son is anxious for us to get him a hamster...I need to think about that one more!

But i will def look into those birdies..thanks!

I would love a canary.  But since I already have two dogs, two goats, a koi pond, and a fish tank I can't imagine having to take care of something else!  I spend my whole morning making sure every one gets fed and then I feed myself last. Then in the evening I have to make sure that everyone is locked up safe so the coyotes don't get them.  But I dream of having a large antique birdcage with a singing canary.  One day!

Lovebirds are the size of a parakeet (if that helps any), they have the personality of a large parrot in a small body.. Conures get a little bigger (about 10-12 inches from head to tip of tail). My lovebird lived in a relatively small cage (something like 15 inches square), but I let her out whenever I was home to fly around and play with the family. This was the cage: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4186116

My conure, however has a cage that's 24 inches by like.. 18 inches, I think. Like this: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754293

If you look into conures, though, beware, most are pretty loud. The quietest are the green cheeks, though, which is why I have a yellow sided green cheek (yellow sided is just a color mutation). The loudest are sun conures (i don't think they're ever quiet).

I used to have a hamster. My mom hated him, because they stink sooo bad.

Harleybear, I'm in your shoes. I'd love to have another fish tank, or larger animal.. but I have a dog, a cat, a bird, a huge koi pond, a betta, and 3 baby guppies that I rescued from PetSmart the other day. Not to mention that I take care of the neighbor-dog.

Also finches are awesomely adorable because of the cute little peep noise they make. I would totally get a finch if I knew it would live happy instead of being taunted by three cats.

You've all heard about our collies and chihuahua, but we have a black cat aptly named Rascal. He used to ambush my oldest. Every time Adam came up the stairs Rascal would swat him on the head. When outside Rascal would take a flying leap and plant all four paws in Adam's back and run the other way. He's declawed so no harm done - just funny as hell to watch. He's older now so his ninja attacks have subsided. Now he just likes to plant himself on your stomach when you're trying to use the laptop.

Adam has a leopard ghecko who guards his room. His name is, of course, Geico. Creative...
