Ahh, those long scopy legs.  We are now in the "off" the counter, table, whatever her curiosity drives her to jump up and look at stage.  She's discovered that with paws up there she can reach stuff.

The last day or so it has been to see what's on my desk.  Guess what's on the desk... the bills of course!  So far she has shredded the gas bill, the insurance bill, the water bill.......!

Good girl???  LOL

Oh no!  lol I wish Dakota would go for the bills!  We were leaving her to roam the house when we were gone...until she helped herself to a bunch of bananas on the counter and my wallet off the kitchen table!  buh bye health card, visa, outdoors card, etc!!

Wow! I think I would have Laith's tail (what's left of it) if he got ahold of my cards! I am grateful then, because the only paper he has ever grabbed was his AKC registration. That is ... kind of his. :)

You guys have a lot more guts than me. He is in his crate when we are out of sight.

Awww the joys of puppyhood...and wish when my bills got ate or shredded they would also go away/...lol

Oh guess what, mine that get shown in lots of different venues, have received all different types of titles and awards and are trained in all kinds of things STILL do this kind of thing LOL!

I guess I expect them to obey in all different kinds of things except home that is where they get to be free and be a dog lol. In all seriousness they are pretty good the older they get but they do counter surf frequently as soon as they hear the door shut. If they know something is up there on the counter and I leave they are all over it.

Here is a picture of my boy at his worst! These photos were taken between 6-8 mo old Hope this makes you feel better or at least give you something to watch out for lol. My facebook page has a special photo file named the "naughty Romeo file"

I didn't do it mom I promise it was really Grandma Boo who sleeps all day.

You should see what this chair looks like now! I should update. This is all because of him not being crated during the day when unsupervised. I was at work and the kids let him run loose not watching him. So it really isn't his fault, I was more upset at the kids for not watching him.

rnddobermans: I know you were probably pulling your hair out but these pictures made me laugh so hard! Mostly because I know if I was to leave my puppy out unattended for 20 minutes he would do the same damage.

But your Dobe is very handsome!!!

I guess there are no dragons left in that sofa.. WoW! He sure did a number of your furniture..   I love the way his foot is inside the cushion. Looks like he figured out the zipper thingie!! What did Paris have to say about her wayward son? Or has she disowned him by now ? LOL

Would love to see the "Naughty Romeo File" can you post it here, or send it to me PM??

You could call it:

" ME LIKES SOFAS!"

I don't think I can copy the file from facebook, but I will try and get all the pictures posted on photobucket and add his file on here. He has done some stuff all right.

Good thing he's so GORGEOUS..

Well it is a good thing that my husband likes him so much or he might be out of here lol. Like I said it really isn't his fault at all this is from this summer and he wasn't being watched the kids felt sorry for him being in his pen and would let him out and forget he was out. It's hard to be mad at him for being a puppy, this is what unattended puppies can do. I'm hoping I can salvage the chair though it was expensive. I think if I take it in they might be able to reshape the handles of it and then have it reupholstered (I hope!) It's a little embarrassing when people come over and have to sit in the family room because he has done it to 2 cushions now and the underside is duct taped shut lol. I cant get anything new until I know he is well out of this stage.

Dallas has been jumping up at the kitchen counter. I can not set any food down on the counter, if I do he is trying to get at it, LOL. I would buy some puppy/baby gates if I didnt think he would just leap over them.

AH,  rocky did almost the same thing as  Romeo to one of our cushions too.  We we 'working' toward not crating him a couple months ago until he got hold of the cushions 2 different days and lost his freedom privliges for a few more months.

We'll give it a try again in another month or two - he'll be 1 year old in Jan.  i don't want to crate him forever but I won't have him destroy my house either.

My Christmas Prayer

Dear Lord,   Thank you for the wonderful gift of this amazing Doberman puppy (and her sidekick of course). She is really a blessing.  Now, if I may, just humbly ask for one more thing?  Please give me the Patience, Stamina, and foresight of potential disasters to make it through the Holidays living with a dragon slayer.  I will try to be a better girl, Thank You Lord      Amen

For the baby gates -- they sell these high ones to help against doggie jumps.  Steve hasn't figured his out yet but he sure tries to get through the windows in the sun room.

Great pictures.. Steve hasn't done damage yet, but his older brother destroyed his family's entire laundry room in a matter of 20 minutes.  Kate, there were dragons, he told Steve -- in the dry wall.

Princess tells me there are dragons everywhere. Of course she is going after the small ones, in pens, Sharpies, toilet paper rolls and even a pill bottle. That was a panic because it was Oxycodone. It was a perscription of 24 pills from my dentist after some dental work last week. I had taken four.

I pried open the plastic bottle end, the cap was in pieces on the floor. There should have been 20 left, there were 18 complete pills, on 3/4 pill and one 1/2 pill and a good bit of powdered residue. So I am confident she did not get any in her system.

At least she hasn't chewed up a mercury bulb thermometer or eaten the rat poison like Red has, of course I learned my lesson on those two and the thermometer is now digital and in the bathroom cabinet (dragons don't fly that high) and the poison is now out in the barn (no Dobies allowed).

She has however, become a real cuddle bunny of late. Almost every evening now she wants in my lap for a bit. But she likes to sit up and keep me from seeing the TV, which may be her motive. Then she will want to get down and go to bed.

This is how Sofia watches television..

" Wake me when Letterman's on"

According to Romeo we have lots of Dragons in the house to be slayed : the couches and chairs are filled with them. They also like to hide in small things such a tv remotes, cell phones, drywall, door handles, stick shifts, car interiors, the spindles on the stairway and stuffed animals. Sometimes he spots them outside running around so the windows and casings are subject to the dragon slayers wrath lol.

THIS TO SHALL PASS! At least this is what they tell me, maybe another few years.

So far there have been dragons in the water bowl, my favorite pillow, her piddle pads, her blanket, the door frame, my feet, my socks, my hair while I sleep, and last but not least, the cats bed. I heard that there are 3 things you need to know when you get a puppy;

1. They will be the light of your day... scratch that... your next 8-18 yrs.

2. At some point, you will want to throw them through a window.

3. DON'T throw them through a window.

I thought it was cute. lol

There is no way I could leave Bella out either.. I could easily see this happening to our furniture. I can't imagine coming home to this.. I wouldn't know if I should laugh or cry at first sight. Beautiful Dog! Bella already has a crush on him.. Now that he's a bad boy she will really be crushing on him.. or should I say "Cushion on him hehe"

Kate I just love the write up of "Furniture by Romeo" It's great!

Rocky turned 11 months last week and once we get the tree down this week he will begin getting short periods of no crating again, working up to longer times.....until hopefully none at all.

This post brings back many memories, I didn't have a crate for Caine when he was a puppy. I used to put a gate up for him. But it never stopped him, left him with plenty of toys but he just wanted more. He would either push the gate down or jump over it. I came home to shoes chewed, corner of antique dining table destroyed, the rungs of the chairs chewed completly off, and a doberman statue I had Caine chewed on the nose but I guess he didn't like the taste of plaster of paris. But he grew out of it eventually. But he had a fasination with tissue. He would go in the trash and pick out the tissue and rip it to shreds. Even as an adult, even once he was in the bathroom and I know he was doing something he wasn't supposed to so I called him. I figured he was in the trash looking for tissue, nope he comes out with a brand new roll of toilet paper in his mouth like a bone. He took it right off the holder. I never could figure out why tissue paper.

There is something about paper. Mine will get tissue or paper towels out of the trash. The other morning I woke up to a ripping sound. It sounded like velcro being pulled apart. I knew it was Red as Princess was in her crate and Red was on his pad at the foot of the bed.

I didn't think it was the pad's cover, as it did not sound like cloth ripping. It was still dark so I had to turn on the light and he had a magazine and was ripping the pages out slowly. It was an old one, so I did not get too upset. Red will be 8 on Thursday, so it's not a puppy thing.

Oh Gee, thanks for the good news Rick LOL.  If Fancy gets ahold of an old magazine or newspaper, sometimes I just let her have at it.  Anything to keep her busy for a few minutes!

I understand that. They can be very demanding of your attention. They seem to have the idea that you were put on this earth to take care of them and pet them when they want it, not when you want to.

I am wondering if I am going to survive Ziva's ear cropping and now reading these posts I get to look forward to the counter and furniture eating?  Ziva is very lucky I love her! She amazes me with how smart she is on one hand and then turns around and makes me think we got the stupid one!! We are constantly laughing at her antics. Dobies are for sure the velcro dog. She is such a good dog and we plan on having a healthy happy dobie for many many years.
