During the holidays I ran across lots of boxed memories.  I found this one of Sage.  She was very special to me, a soul mate without any doubt.  We lived, laughed and loved back in the 70s.  I had an old '65 International Scout, one window wouldn't crank all the way up, so got a little chilly in the mountains of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Pueblo, Colorado. She was a Never Say Never Dog.  With me through any circumstance.  We froze our butts off in that Scout, but the piles of mom's homemade corduroy blankets and the warm cabin fires kept us good.

Such wonderful memories we have from our special heart dogs. Glad you had her in your life Barb.

In the 80's I  had an Olde English Sheep dog named Milly. She was another 'Velcro dog'. I can still see her sitting beside me while I addressed Christmas cards... The only thing visible was her black button nose and pink tongue.. I used that tongue to glue the envelopes. Milly could creep into the living room without making a sound.. inch by inch she nudged her way from the entry way to the forbidden white carpet. Another rescue, another amazing animal!

Yes, We can't be too sad when we realize not knowing them at all.  You are so right, Kate. I remember your letter about the butterflies and curling the eyelashes.  Miss them, but had them in our lives. And Elly with that pup.  Rest Girls.
