25 weeks 5 days! Healthy and strong like a horse, but not aware of it.

I think we hit adolecence :) Many staredowns and mental battles every day. Thank god, no signs of getting physical!

His staph has cleared up and now I hope that the little bald patch on his back will grow hair agian^^ We got blood panels and other test results back. There is nothing wrong with him, he just happens to have a lighter nose...

We are still posting!!!

Sir Dexter...

...and his house rules!

:) Dexter has been trying to get away with every single rule for about a week now!

I am just overjoyed that it is all mental challenges and no growls or teeth

Right now he is big on "I wonder how often she will tell me to get into my bed or sit down before she comes over here and makes me?"

WOW he is B-E-A-UTIFUL! I love him!!!!

Oh the dobertude that comes out of them is, well....Tude...with a capital T :p

Harley just tried on barking for attention this morning, well it didn't go down so well so he resorted to 'using his manners'.

I had a laugh about it later (when he wasn't looking ;p)

Thanks for posting

And just when YOU learn the rules, they'll make up new ones,

Sofia, ( who besides being resident Diva and dog extraordinaire LOL) gets really bossy from time to time.

Just this morning she refused her 2x day meds.

" Nope" she said." Don't want it".

I disguised the tiny little thyroid pill in mango ( she loves mango)... she turned her head toward the window) I wrapped it in some white chicken meat. ( irresistible)... she turned her entire body around and faced the back of the sofa. I gave it the "Cesar Milan-I-am-alpha- stance". she rolled her eyes...

( I've often wondered how they can take the pill and 20 mins. later spit it back out DRY!!) but I digress..

so sometimes no matter what.. and no matter how well 'trained' you think YOU are.. they will up and surprise you.. Keeps life interesting.

Oh Lady Kate that is so funny must be something in the air today - Ben has been on atopica now for 8 months or more - and he takes it like a champ - but not today, nope, I put it in his favorite pill pocket and smushed it around the pill since the pill is so much bigger than the pill pocket, he took it ate it, I saw him, hahahaha he chewed and chewed, spit the pill pocket out so I pick up the slimiest nastiest pill pocket and give it back to him and he chewed and chewed, then I turn around and there on the kitchen floor was a very clean completely whole atopica pill - I said "Oh Ben" and he just sat and looked at it like it was the most foreign thing he had ever seen, so I did the tough love thing and picked up the pill and shoved it in his mouth where his teeth don't meet and held his jaw shut and he swallowed so I let go and lo and behold there was that pill again!!! finally I just held his jaw and it was a test of wills but I won and he did swallow it.

Not sure what all that was about but he really didn't want it today.....so he sends his deepest sympathies to Sofia!!!

Hahahaha Tali.. you just made my day.. Sometimes they remind me of psych patients who are saving the pills under their tongue..

I've even tried peanut butter..

Note to gentle readers:.. doesn't work.. all they do is lick the stuff creating a great slimy mess on your fingers and the pill is left all alone. dry. Dry as the Gobi Desert.

HOW DO THEY DO THAT???

I don't know it amazes me and the looks they can give - it's as if "you have got to be kidding mom that's nasty I can't eat that" and this from a dog that will eat poop but not the pill.....hahahahahaha

Dear Ben~

Hmmph.. they just don't understand do they? Sometimes we're in the mood for salad, other times, not so much.. Sometimes, there's nothing like the fresh taste of wild hare, other times only a reptilian appetizer will do. Then there's poo.. ( not that I would indulge, but I'm not here to judge.)

The pill dilemma, you and I know what that's all about and we're not saying! It will be our little secret...

My dearest Sofia,

You are so right - they just don't understand us as much as they think they do. I have to admit the poo eating is not the proudest moment in my life but once I got a taste I just couldn't help myself. The grass clods are very good though and if you get a chance you should try them just learn from my mistakes and only eat one as it will make you very sick, but once again I couldn't stop myself and ate too much and mom had to take me to the doctor, but I highly recommend the grass. I guess we will have to take those silly pills that they insist we eat but we should always refuse every once in a while just to make sure they know we are only eating them cause WE want to not because they said to, ;)

Much Love,

Ben

PS. By the way you are looking quite beautiful today!!! (as Ben blushes)

Sofia what a great invitation!! I am not sure what all the holes are for as I don't like to get my feet dirty so you will have to dig and I can pounce I might be able to eat the dirt out of the hole though, cause I really do like to eat mouthfuls of dirt. I think that might work!!! I can eat and have fun at the same time with a beautiful girl - life doesn't get any better than that, let me see if I can find the car keys cause I love to ride too but I feel I might have to drive - I suppose if I put a hat on no one will know I not a big man driving, so when I find the keys I will let you know, in the meantime you keep on digging and let me know what interesting things you find. I will get my halter on so I am safe in the car.......

Ps. do you think I need to be in the front seat and looking out the front instead of the back, to drive???

Ben:

You are so big and handsome, I think you can do anything you want to. ( within reason of course) I don't drive, I of course, being the Diva that I am, have a driver.. I also do not fetch as I have people to do that as well, but here's an idea... we could umm.. cuddle.. in the back seat...

What do you think? Will your Mother let you come and play with me??Maybe she'd let you chase me on the beach

Oh Sofia!!! Cuddling in the backseat sounds like much more fun than eating dirt all day but if I get hungry we could work on the holes you so diligently started.  I think mom would let me come play especially on the beach, she loves the beach so I am sure she wouldn't say no. I hope you run fairly slow as I am not a good runner but I will give it my best shot. Balancing on one foot wow, my mom does that all the time (she only has one) I have often wondered how to do that, you make it look so easy......I usually just lounge around on the huge front porch on my soft orthopedic bed, but playing at the water would be grand. Where is that water you are running next to?? I think I heard mom say once we are in NC, USA whatever that means....

Oooo I am a world class lounger myself. We live in Baja Mexico and siestas are most important.. It's usually nice and warm here all year round.. but once in a while the temperature drops below 70 degrees and I get chilly.. I'll loan you a pair of my socks if you're cold too.

I think you are very handsome and regal looking.. (I practice the regal look when I see the camera.) Air Kisses

Oooooo Mexico sounds exotic!! I love your socks thanks for offering to share, I can bring my mutluks too I have four and we could share those, I had to wear those when my foot got biopsied. I think you lounge quite fabulously. I know when my foster mom said I was going to be adopted and move to another home I told her I HAD to have air conditioning as I don't do well in the heat. As you can see sometimes I have to give up my bed to the little guy so I am used to sharing and I would definitely be willing to share anything that I have with you my dear Sofia. Looks like you are taking a wonderful nap right now so I will let you go get your beauty sleep.

Lots of Love

K-Tron - Benjaman says thank you and he thinks they make a striking couple too :)) Benieman and Sofia could have gone on for days I'm sure, who knows maybe on another cold and rainy day they will hook up again.......

I'm still picturing Miss Sofia very feminine in her dainty socks and Ben lumbering up wearing his mutluks (even sounding out the word mutluks is heavy, just like Ben) hahahahahaha
