Yep, Axel is scheduled for surgery on OCT 8. He has to have eye surgery . His eyelid on his right eye is inverted and causing discomfort and tearing. I was told it's not that common in Dobermans but can happen to any dog. I was wondering if any one else has had this happen. Now I have had this happen in a chow years ago and was told it was common in chows .

I've seen the surgery many times, mostly in breeds like Shar Peis, etc.  KEEP THE COLLAR ON, be sure to medicate as prescribed.  He'll feel a whole bunch better after it's all over.

Tess,

So sorry to hear this about Axel. It's a fixable situation and will go smoothly..but what a hassel for both of you. Yes.. keep his E-Collar on. He's such a good boy, I know he'll be a good patient.

smooches and best thoughts

Abby had this surgery when she was young. I was told it was genetic and will likely need to be redone sometime in the future. Sorry I dont have any good photo's of the entropian, but here is after surgery. It was like she didn't even know it was done :)

No worries, for me it was half day surgery. The stitches actually pulled through over a peroid of time but managed to do the job. All will go well with Axel!

Thank you everyone for the kind words of support. Thank you Andrew for the pics. I'm sure it will go well. The only down side is Axel was suppose to start the next phase of his obedience classes on the 10th but I will postpone them. He LOVES his classes. I'll keep everyone posted and again, thanks.
