Hi everyone,

We brought Apollo home 1 week ago. He is 9 weeks old and is an amazing bundle of joy and destruction. He came home to 5 of us, my wife and I have 3 kids?? 15,20,21. So there is a lot of attention although I seem to be the one giving him the most attention at the 3am potty time!

I will post some additional questions in the puppy area as it has been 20 years since we had a Doberman puppy. I have poured over the sticky articles for pupy stuff and they have been very helpful to remind us of what we have forgotten and help us to improve on how we raise this guy.

Welcome to the Forum. What a darling little guy you have there... Haven't had a pup.. not in over a hundred years... so I really cannot give any advice..Just wanted to welcome you to Gentle Doberman...

My only suggestion would be to take a bunch of photos as they change so quickly... good luck and we look forward to watching Apollo grow and hear the adventures you're going to post..

Welcome to this forum you came to the right place for questions and support and plain fun.. we will expect pictures and more pictures.. about 20 years ago I had a dobie named Apollo.. yes these guys and girls are clowns and a lot of fun.. They need a lot of attention and excerscise .. at what age you start that is a good question.. Socialization with other pup is important.. sounds like he has enough humans at home.. maybe you can find a puppy class.  then later obedience .. you are in for a good time.. Are you crate training him?

By the way my name is Betty and i am owned by Zoey my rescue doberman and Levi my toy poodle.. So Welcome again and if you have questions dont be afraid to ask..

Yes we are crate training him and he is doing great. Housebreaking going really well with all the treats and consistency on our part paying off.

Thanks for all the welcomes.

Finally posted puppy pics for everyone that was asking. It took me awhile.

They are in his gallery.

Welcome  and I have a very Robust 3 and a half month  old girl called Gretel. She is just into the climbing, jumping and many other extreme sports such as coffee table surfing. She has what I call wild hour  between 6.30pm and 7.30pm which includes out of control galloping up and down our hall.Thankfully she has a playmate a little rescue dog who is 3 this year and they play all the time .

OMG!!!!!!  I LOVE your wife's invention - I laughed SO hard when I blew up the photo and saw it.

(And no, I'm not going to tell anyone what it is - y'all have to go and look for yourselves.)

ROTFLMAO!!!

Oh thats pretty funny and smart!  Harley will bring chewy bones over to me specifically so I can hold it while he chews.  Spoiled much?

Handsome little devil you got there!  @Tess, probably bandages from dew claw removal.  5 of you and one Dobie -  you have your work cut out for you.  Welcome to the forums.

Welcome!  We have a little 4 month old named Mosin. Aren't they super fun?  I just love the breed so much. Ours has the chew bones as well, and when our Boxer steals it from him, he will stealthily go and steal it back. Crafty little devils, and they remember EVERYTHING!

im running off to work but wanted to welcome you to the forum and say I LOVE your wifes bone holder invention LOL. Your puppy is very cute.

My dogs will bring the bone up to me and have me hold it so they can get it just right...Maybe we should try this very clever.

I will have to get ours out of the garage cause Ben is terrible about wanting us to hold that silly bone for hours so he can get just the right angle on it......very smart idea....
