Hello fellow Dobie lovers! Just wanted to say hello and thank everyone for all this valuable information!!

I recently just paid deposit on our first Doberman, she comes home at the end of May and we are soooo excited :)

I’ve been researching the breed for about 3 years now and finally have the good feeling with a breeder and perfect time in our lives for a new baby. Trying to decide on a name is tough, I have so many I like.

Any best advice for this first time Doberman mommy? I can’t wait to meet her :)

I just added a few pics of the babies (3.5 weeks) and a picture of mom and dad in a photo gallery. Not quite sure what I am doing though...

Anyone know what size collar to buy for new puppy? Should be bringing her home at 8 weeks. I thought I read somewhere 12in. Seemed small, so to on the safe side I ordered a 14in. Still seems so tiny! Is this right? Thanks!!!

How are measuring the collar? My 4 yr old female has a 15" neck!

I don’t know, this looks like it would fit a cat. It says 14” on the tag... I’ll get a bigger one and just bring both. If the smaller one fits, it won’t fit for very long.

Yes, the first collar looks like a cat's.  I got 3-4 before finally getting his last one.  Make sure you bring a crate to transport the new baby in.  Loved the pics of the babies.

Added 5 week baby photos. We bring her home on the 18th and think we are naming her Yara

As far as wanting advice: there a couple of free downloads from Ian Dunbar - Before you get your Puppy and After you get your Puppy. Lots of great info.

Also Perfect Puppy by Dr. Sophia Yin.

These are not Dobe-specific but it had been 40 yrs since I'd raised a puppy when I got my current girl and I found them so helpful.

Doberman puppies can be little terrors so it helps to have a game plan!
