Sadly, we adopted two female puppies who are litter mates.....7 months later, you should know the story; both are fighting for dominance.  Ms. Ladybug is 7 months, leash trained, house trained, a diva, lovable and needs to know she is the alpha female of her new home.   All her shots are up-to-date; she is not yet spayed.  We live in Detroit but are willing to help relocate her to the right home.  Please let us know if you know anyone willing to adopt a female diva!

Let me ask my friends in Dearborn & Allen Park if they know someone.  I'll get back to you.

Okay, I have a family interested in Allen Park.  Not too far from your location.  They are school teacher and lawyer / business owners.  They keep there pets well spoiled.  I've camped with them, I work with them, their dogs lack nothing, vet,  food, toy or accessory wise.  They are also very experienced with the breed.  Your baby will go to work with the husband and have free run of the business, a fenced yard at home.  I'm just waiting for an email answer as to which phone number to give you.....office, his cell, her cell, home, or business.  I assume they'll want the business as that's where he is most often.

They are a wonderful couple, no kids and have money to spend on fur kids.

Wonderful news!  Once you have contact information, please let me know as we'll be happy to introduce Ms. Ladybug.  This home sounds like a dream for her!  This has been stressful as I want her in a good home but know it's not our home given they are litter mates.

I have also reported the breeder to everyone I can think of once I understood this is not a ethical practice, placing female litter mates in the same home!  Live and learn!

More information about Ladybug to share with prospective new fur-parents!  We still are looking for a good home; many have asked about price so we asked that folks offer what they can. We paid $300 then $300 in vet (when we adopted she had no shot record and was dehydrated).  Make an offer as a good home trumps a price any day!

Loveable Ladybug needs a new home!

Female, 7 months old (52 lbs – vet says I will grow into 80/90 lb girl)

  • All shots up to date; black and tan
  • Not yet spayed
  • Tail is clipped but ears are not
  • House trained
  • Crate trained
  • Lease trained
  • Basic obedience commands – sit, stay, down, off, etc….
  • Loves squeaky tows and chew toys
  • LOVES, LOVES walks outside
  • LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to be right beside you every day
  • Good with other dogs; never been around kids but would expect good behavior once introduced
  • She needs to know she is the one and only female in the pack

And can I just say how grateful I am for this forum as we would have struggled finding a great home for Ms. Ladybug without this forum - THANK YOU.

Shelby (her sister) is settled here and knowing Ladybug is loved, we will rest easy tonight. Thank you all.

Well, it was meant to be - HURRAH! God bless you Bruno's Mom! For me, Dobies are like potato chips - can't have just one!

Though I am currently Dobie-less, I love that Ladybug found a home!

Happy to hear that she's found a great home.  Who is the pretty Clare-Bear?  Don't hestate to tell us about this lovely lady too.  She looks like she's quite a happy and relaxed.  Nice pictures by the way, and not sure if you were ever welcomed to the forum......but Welcome!   We'd like to see Shelby too now that you're getting the hang of posting on the forum.  Lady Bug looks like a large Dobie.  Did you aquire the girls in Michigan?

I live across the river from you in Canada.  Daymian was born in Ortonville Mi, but adopted from Indiana, near Kendallville.  He was worth the day long excursion and going through Customs was a breeze.  Where we won't go or the things we do for our dobie's!  Before you know it you'll be on this forum at home and work keeping up with the latest and sharing your stories.

and Bruno's Mom......congratulations on the adoption.  Hope she's found here fur-ever home and a soulmate to play with.

Ladybug is such a wonderful girl, I am so grateful that I got to adopt her!

She is completely wild of course LOL. SHe was nice and calm the first day and now she zooms around the house like a wild animal. She is actually six months old (both of us counted wrong, lol. She was born in July 2012.) so she is still SO much a baby. It's comical to see this very big girl who acts like a very young pup!

This is what happens every day -

Dogs go out to potty around 6:45am and then come in and bark at each other. For like 20 minutes, non stop barking and play bowing but no play. Then it's breakfast time. Bug eats in her crate because Bruno is on special food and he will steal hers in a heartbeat if given half a chance. She won't eat at first - she covers her bowl up with her blanket, and then eats about ten minutes later. Then potty time and MORE BARKING at each other.

After about half a day of barking and play bowing, they decide to just get it over with and play. They're fine after that.

Luckily we live out in the middle of nowhere so no neighbors to be annoyed with this,  and the barking doesn't bother me. They're getting to know each other, and they're unsure of how to go about playing with each other. There has been less and less barking every day.

She has completely forgotten her puppy training but she's VERY smart and learning quickly. She doesn't know her name and refuses to come when called, so that's what we're working on now. She is picking it up very quickly!

This is my first experience with a dobe this young but so far she has been a very enjoyable challenge. Challenging dogs are my favorite - it's nice when they are couch potatoes too, but I love working with her and seeing her blossom.

We are starting beginner obedience classes on Feb. 2, I know she's going to thrive and love it!

I'll try to get some good pics this afternoon (they are napping now.) The funniest thing is the way they "roo" at each other. They lay about 2 feet apart, nose to nose, and rooo roooo roooo back and forth. I keep trying to catch it on video but they both jump up when they see me watching. :D

Update!

Miss Bugs is now 11.5 months old and just an absolute JOY!!! She does have some minor issues with being a bit reactive here and there but she's getting over it with plenty of training.

I gave a more detailed update on her blog. (Yes, the diva has a blog. LOL)
