His cropping was 10 days ago. He went in for suture removal today. They're letting his ears "air out" over the weekend, but if they continue to stand straight then he's good to go! Is it hopeful they'll stand straight on their own this early? Here are 2 pics. Sometimes if he's really alert, the tips touch.

His ears look great!  It's quite possible that they will continue to stand, but watch for drooping, especially when he gets tired or right after he wakes up. If they dont perk back up, it's time to post again.  I know what you mean about being so alert to something that the ear tips touch---looks weird, doesnt it?  That will relax in time, though.  Samson looks fantastic.

Thanks! The vet said to watch for that airplane look too. If that happens, bring him in to post. I'm such a ninnie when it comes to things like this so I really don't mind paying to have them post them. When I was little and my mom had dobie's, I'd cry everytime they got their ears cropped. I hated seeing them like that! So glad I've been able to conquer this small fear I've had! I sound like I'm the one who go my ears cropped! Now that it's almost over, it hasn't been all that bad. Thank God.

Isn't it amazing how much more "grown up" they look after the ears are cropped and the tapes are off?  Time will fly by, and he'll be HUGE before you know it.  But, that's ok, too

I can't wait to see how big he actually gets. At 11 weeks he was 22 pounds. The vet said he was bigger than the average 11-wk Doberman puppy. Not sure if that's a sign of their size when they're full grown, but we will be happy with a big boy! His mom has a really stocky build...his dad is the average size of a Doberman. I'm curious to see how he looks full grown. I haven't been around dogs in general since I was a teenager so everything is a re-learning experience!

Cisco was about 11 lbs when we brought him home at 8 weeks - by 12 weeks he was 22ish... He is now a week shy of 6 months and he is hovering around 60.

We didn't get raven until she was 14 weeks and she was only about 24 lbs - she is now almost 40 and will be 5 months old tomorrow

Oh my gosh.. Samson looks so good!! What a difference!!

One of my favorite things about this forum is 'watching baby grow..'

They go from adorable little Doberballs to regal and stunning dogs almost over night

He looks good. The ears are standing nicely, if they continue to stand like that you are done. However, be observant when he starts teething, and sometimes they may regress during that stress.
