Today my baby had his ears cropped. Since we got home he has had diarrhea and he just woke up with a huge wet spot under him which appeared to be sweat, weird!  I am concerned and would like to know if this is normal. He was also shiverring a little but seems fine now. im worried :/

I would guess that the wet spot was urine.  Probably a side effect of the anesthesia.

ok maybe so but even with the pain meds he seems to be in pain and his nose seems dry and warm. What should i do if he has fever at midnight? I am giving him all the food  and water he will take and giving him lots of love.

You should not feed them much right after surgery! That alone will make them sick your vet should of told you this!    Dodie & Hoss

Check his temperature (thermometer up his bum) and check his gums (they should be bright pink) to make sure he doesn't have to go to the ER.

If he is stable, call the vet and discuss the side effects.  He will probably want you to bring him in just to make sure he is okay.

awww hugs to the little guy.....yes it's true don't feed after surgery, maybe a few kibbles but not much of anything, water is great but food not so much.........hope he gets to feeling better - let us know.

ooops forgot to say that most animals shiver after surgery too, it's the anesthesia, take a blanket and throw it in the dryer for a few minutes to warm it and wrap him in it, don't let him get cold....
