Ziva Cracked Tooth

Ziva's been acting weird about food lately, so off to the vet she went today.  He lower left canine tooth is cracked lengthwise and will have to be removed.  On top of that, her gums are really irritated and she has to have a dental.  I've never had a dog who needed to have a tooth pulled.  I hope she'll be OK with only three canines!

Tuesday's the big day, and is also the day our new foster dog gets neutered.  He comes home Wednesday.  And I go to the Dr Thursday to find out if I need hip surgery!  Too many doctors!  I'm a wreck already.

Eek! Everything comes in threes, hopefully that's your lot! Good luck at the drs :) I'm sure she will manage fine with 3.

She'll just look so weird.  And anytime I have a dog under anesthesia it freaks me out.  Now with two on one day!  AND our former foster dog, Copper, is having health issues at rescue with his heartworm treatment.  Its bad enough with your own dogs (both rescues), but when you have an "extended family" of foster dogs, it gets complicated.

Thanks for the sympathy, though!  It certainly helps.

Oh wow you sound like you are having one of my months!!!! my deepest sympathies on the schedule and worry that goes along with it; according to my vet dogs do great even without ANY teeth so one gone will be fine....anesthesia - since she has been spayed and did ok she should do fine, they usually don't do a "full" under for teeth and if there are any concerns they can dose her to bring her out, carrie will do great......I hope the HW treatment levels out I know that can be very worrisome, I hope it's just a slight bump in the road; and the neuter - well you know how that goes, the dogs don't really pay it any attention; as for your hip surgery would it be a good thing or a bad thing to find out you need it??? whichever is the "good" thing that's what I will root for :)) hip surgery is hard, been there done that; I broke my hip at age 28 and had to have a pin, to me even with all my surgeries from birth till then that was the hardest surgery due to the severity of the impact when I fell; it's a painful recovery just because of therapy they really force you to move it whether you want to or not.....but if you need it you WILL feel better after you get through therapy.....my back door neighbor that had the other rottie that used to visit Ben, she had hip replacement surgery and within 3 weeks she was back to walking albeit with a walker but then she was walking with a cane and now you would never know and it's been 2 years.....and she is in her late 70's early 80's so I know you can do it. This too shall pass......keep saying that.......

A snippet of good news - Copper is doing better and the foster home he was moved to for some extra care has fallen in love and is adopting him!

Ziva is home and happy.  I misunderstood-it wasn't her canine, but the little tooth next to it.  Its gone, but you hardly can tell.  She's a little grouchy, but seems to be fine.

The funny story is Gibbs - he went absolutely nuts when everybody left yesterday morning.  Mom (who lives in a seperate part of the house) called me at work the second the phones were on.  He was chewing the fence wire (not another tooth!), digging and howling his head off.  I wound up picking him up and taking him to work with me.  He had a little bit of trouble coping with new people and a new place, but actually was very good and slept behind my chair most of the day.  I think he thought the baby gate was to keep people out, not him in.

Thank you to my great boss for letting me do that!  I would've had to go home and stay with him if not.

So this evening James picks up our foster, Roman.  He was neutered yesterday.

Seems to me we need another dog to keep Gibbs company is Ziva has to go off again, don't we?
