Hi Everyone!

My Molly (6 months) has been having diarreah for a few days and it's making me so sad and worried for her. She is still her happy little playful self and has water available at all times to her. We have her on what the breeders had her on which is purina proplan focus, chicken and rice formula for puppies. She would occationally have an upset stomach which I have read is common in dobermans, but this last week has not been normal at all. My boyfriend is trying to get a hold of her vet to check if we need to bring her in for a check up. I am desperate now, I want my baby to get better an not have to deal with an upset stomach anymore.... We are going to give her some chicken and rice which I read will help... Molly will appreciate any other advice on food brands or what we can do to help her stomach feel better.

oh those puppies! always getting into something! Always keep some canned pumpkin on hand (not pie filling, just plain pumpkin). Give her a good scoop of that twice in a day. If the diarrhea continues, then take a stool sample to the vet.

my two month old just had diarrhea we took him to the vet and he checked out fine. I gave him plain brown rice with a little bit of kibble and watered it down to make the kibble more soupy so he wouldn't get dehydrated. It seemed to work and he's been fine ever since. Main thing you want to be sure of is that she doesn't get dehydrated.

Thank you! Her stomach got better after I gave her chicken and rice, but will keep your suggestion for the future as well. Molly sure loved the chicken and rice though, she doesn't get table food ever so this was a huge treat for her and it helped with her poopies! She drinks a ton of water all of the time, that is what scared me as well, I didn't want her to get dehydrated from having so much diarreah... but so far her tummy is feeling a ton better!

That's great news.. it's so scary when one of our kids are sick. You can continue with the pumpkin if you're using that. it's a great pro-biotic... I put a dollop in both our girls meals.

It is scary! Her vet prescribed her meds so she can go back to eating her own food. So far, her tummy hasn't been upset and no accidents! Hopefully this keeps so she doesn't soil anymore of her bedding and doesn't give me any grey hairs ;)
