I brought Zoro home just 5 days ago. She is now 40 days old. She was eating and drinking fine in the beginning but now she vomits everything she eats. Once she vomits, the food looks just like it did when she first ate it. It's as if its not being degested at all. She also excretes very little. What could be the problem? Am I overfeeding it. I give it Calcium, Vitamsins, Stresstabs powder and everthing else the breeder recommended. What am I doing wrong?

The same thing happened to JJ. He swallowed something and it was in his stomach. The vet gave him some meds and he finally pooped it out. It looked like a piece of the rug he ripped up. I would suggest you bring Zoro to the vet right away. He might have swallowed something. These dobe pups put everything in their mouths. You have to watch them all the time.

I agree---it very possibly could be an obstruction that's keeping her from digesting anything.  I think I'd have it checked out right away.  You never know what they find and swallow.  I had a doberman pup once that found an old music cassette tape and cracked it open with her teeth and swallowed the little wound up mylar tape roll, and it unwound after she swallowed it.  Luckily, she threw up the entire thing, but not until the next day, and I had no idea in the world that she had done it till I saw it coming out of her mouth.

I would do an immediate vet check just to be sure...  If she checks out medically, I would try a different food.  You said she's been home 5 days, did you use the same food the breeder used, or something different?  A sudden food change would absolutely cause this.

This also happened to Cisco - He swallowed on of his toys whole... He eventually thru it u[ on his own before i had to take him to vet(he did it twice - and everytime I was getting ready to take him to the vet out came the skinnie)

It is definately something to check.... better safe than sorry~

Vet ASAP -- it is not normal to throw up undigested food and the fact that you say "very little poop" makes me think it could be an ubstruction.  Also, at this age, it could be other things too.  Parvo, for example.  If you haven't brought your pup to the vet yet now is the time to get on the phone and go.

Please let us know what the vet said.

Wow, she is just a baby.  Sound like you got her at five week (35 days and now you've had her five days).  It could be something she ate or just that she is still so young.  I agree that I would take her to the vet.  She is having trouble with something.

I hope you have taken the advice to get to a vet immediately and have already identified the problem. If not, please do so now. Because this is a puppy you have even less time. His little body needs nutrients and hydration, and will starve and dehydrate rapidly without attention. Remember his tiny size and act quickly! Let us know how it goes!

Sorry for the late reply and thanks a lot for all the advice guys. I took her to the vet immediately and the vet prescribed a syrup for her. 2 days after that she got well again. It seemed to be the change in diet that caused this. Now she is better than ever though. Thanks again for all the advice!
