Dear All,

My dobbie is getting hiccups pretty often, should I be worried about? Does your dogs have the same? Mine sometimes twice a day. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Dovile and Fendo

I find that puppies do often hiccup, and I think nothing of it.

However, some say that hiccups can be a sign of worms so you may want to take a stool sample to your vet for checking.

Dakota gets hiccups sometimes, (she doesn't have worms) they usually stop pretty quickly.  It's kinda cute and funny but I feel bad laughing at her lol

I do think its a puppy thing and I was told they grow out of it.  Steve gets the hiccups as well.. sometimes after eating sometimes not.. I find it cute.

I was wondering the same thing! Bluff gets them about 5 times a day and he's worm free so it seems like it must be a puppy thing.

Brinks' vet showed me how to rub him just behind the ribcage to stop the hiccups.  Worked every time & he grew out of it soon.  The surprised look on his face the first time he had them was precious!

LOVE THIS PLACE! I was just having a morning chuckle as Cisco was having another hiccup fit and the look on his face is a mix of ticked off and suprise everytime he has a little bout of them! I will check his BM just in case - but it is usally after an eat/play session when he gets them! And there he goes again! Poor little guy!
